In all the races I've watched over the years this is one of the best examples of awareness by an animal I have ever been priveledged to witness. Cat Thief was so used to just missing. He knew the magnitude of the accomplishment! Look at his eyes as he starts the gallop back to the winner's circle. His eyes are practically popping right out of the sockets, he is so excited. It is really heart-warming to see him so happy!

I saw him win Travers. I should have bet him in BCC. So professional. I have to add I'm in love with Cat Thief all over again just watching this.

I still love watching this one. Pat Day paced this one like the expert he is and was.He knew what he had in the tank.$41 winner. I cashed $6,800 on the race. Love ya Cat Thief !

Monster effort by Cat Thief. Hes on or near the pace going 1:09 for 3/4s of a mile in a mile and a quarter race, which is usually death for speed horses. He looks beat at the top of the stretch, and hes pulling away at the wire. Honestly I think if they run around again and hes still in front lol Ton of heart. Paying 41 bucks too.

The Superfecta paid like $252k in this race, it paid more than the pick 6 ! The longest shot in the field 2nd the second the longest shot in field 3rd and so on..

I bet him in the derby. Went to his knees out of the gate and couldn't make it up. 19-1 recouped my Derby losses, lol. Imagine getting Day and Lucas at that price.

Several times he looked as if he was going to pack it in and then he found new energy. Great clutch performance. And for all those people who critique Pat Day he managed to win a few big races nonetheless.

I agree with you but the year prior may concern random down Avery's just out written buy a better Rider they were both three year olds concern had two wins and Jerry Bailey got them home on Pat day RaceTrac I've been doing this 40 years seen a lot but if you want to see something truly exhilarating watch the 1986 Pennsylvania Derby and then tell me about a horse with determination Cordero had one leg out of the irons already and then took them out to the West Coast and beat Ferdinand snow chief and the rest of them garbage horses on the West Coast!!!!
