It was such a horrible parallel: this kid leaves the band, frustrated and burdened by a lack of control over his career due to the whims of older men in the industry. Only to, EVEN AFTER LEAVING, have no control of his career due to the whims of older men in the industry. Awful. :-/

Firstly, thank you for the cake compliment! 🙏🏻🥰 Now secondly, to clarify your point: those pictures that Louis made fun of were posted in May, but Louis and Naughty Boy's beef started March 30th, only a few days after Zayn left- at the same time Naughty Boy started making fun of Directioners for being upset that Zayn left and taunting us with the idea that Zayn only left to go solo. Louis stepped in and told him that he was acting immature and "inconsiderate" for "trying to wind the fans up". THAT is what started the feud. By the time of the photo feud that everyone is more familiar with, Naughty Boy had been spending WEEKS taunting the fans after Louis told him to leave us alone 🙏🏻 Also, moreso when I said he was the villain, I was referring to him pretty clearly exploiting Zayn by releasing a song without Zayn's permission before he was ready 😊

@@real1dHistorian Hey thanks for the reply i love your channel! Oh yeah i do remember Louis earlier telling him he was winding the fans up because of a post Naughty Boy retweeted, of someone saying NB saved their life and "Zaughty will rise", that was a bit before I Wont mind was released. But i still dont think he was the "villain" in that whole beef, Zayn was fine with him releasing I Wont Mind and they were still seen out together or in the studio after it was released. They only fell out months later because of some other issue. The fans were very sensitive after Zayn left and they were getting mad at anything and anyone, including attacking Zayn himself, if we're being honest a big part of the fandom was very immature. I think all parties deserve some blame, Naughty Boy was getting a lot of unecessary hate after Zayn left just for being supportive of him and he felt the need to hit back. While Louis and Zayn acted a bit immature as well with some of their replies. It was upsetting to see it all unfold. That whole period was a hard time for us as fans, but things get a bit more clearer with time, and Zayn's recent interviews confirm that the main reason he left was to go solo first and do his own thing. Im happy for him but i still think he could have done things in a better way.

Thank you so much! 🙏🏻 Yeah, the issue they fell out over a few months later was... Naughty Boy leaking a video of Zayn singing without his permission. 😅 "I Won't Mind" was only up for a day before Naughty Boy took it down again, which was a weird move. The prevailing fan theory has always been that, given Zayn's response to the second leak and Naughty Boy's proclivity for leaking videos of Zayn for clout when Zayn didn't want him to, the reason he had to take down "I Won't Mind" was because he didn't have permission to post in the first place. (Personally, I subscribe to that theory because the reasoning makes the most sense to me.) You're right in saying fans were sensitive when Zayn left and you're right in saying both Zayn and Louis could have handled the whole debacle more maturely! But also: neither of them was a grown 30 year old man making fun of sensitive young girls on the internet. I'm always going to find that person to be the villain. @@real1dHistorian I definitely see what you mean, but i dont remember NB explicitly making fun of fans i just recall him receiving too much uncesessary hate early on before the whole beef. I agree that given his age he should've been more mature, however artists have big egos and sometimes they hit back if they feel attacked. Then again i wasnt the type of fan who was very active on twitter and keeping up with every detail so i might've missed some things, i was just mostly focused on the boys' music. Maybe that's why i felt disconnected with a big part of the fandom and their behavior. Anyways, it's really lovely to talk to someone about 1D again i've always wished i had a friend to have these types of conversations with, it just brings back so many memories. Im looking forward to watching more of your videos and chatting more about everything 1D!

It's correct that Zayn did say it was a statement created by lawyers, not him! 😊 But as I've mentioned in other videos, that wasn't something fans were aware of at the time. And because the statement was drafted in such a way that the statement of being a normal 22 year old directly quoted those words as his language, we had no reason to doubt the validity of the statement. 🙏🏻

@@real1dHistorian It should be clarified each time it's used. "official statement" more than likely will be construed as being his and viewers, especially if new, will not think to check out other videos to see if that's the case. "Official statement, which Zayn later confirmed did not come from him" would just be a more accurate representation ☺
