In general repeated notes are at a certain tempo impossible to play on an upright since its mechanic doesn't allow these executions. In this regard uprights are pretty much inferior to grand pianos
@ludicroussealanimations36432 жыл бұрын
Yes
@pretzelkch83222 жыл бұрын
I had no idea that was a thing... I guess that's why literally NO pianists perform on an upright in concert?
@yvltc2 жыл бұрын
Not only that but it doesn't help. A grand has a much richer sound than an upright, it's not even comparable. You have much more control over the sound coming out of the piano with a grand than with an upright.
@addisoncagan95452 жыл бұрын
@@pretzelkch8322 yes it’s due to gravity and the way the hammers are placed. An upright will never repeat at the speed of a grand even if it’s a 50k Steinway upright

For me it sounds a lot like traditional Finnish folk music. In the village I come from, there are accordion competitions for 6-11 year olds where they have to play songs like this that are equally challenging. In general, your worth as a human being is measured by your ability to play those trad. songs flawlessly on any instrument.

@@juunasjohn9401 Finland is much more than just Sibelius, and they've never gotten the credit they deserve for maintaining much of their folk traditions in music. Some would say, "Finland? Russia? What's the difference?" Okay, it's mainly Russians saying that.

for all of those who ask to remove buzz sound at the mistakes, I think it's actually quite understandable. I think these challenges are more meant for non musicians so mistake buzz give a stronger message and point out some mistakes many might not notice. Ofc as musician i'd love to see the whole thing without any interruptions but i think this works better as youtube video. As we know you can't have both a super technical and also successful youtube video anymore so I am totally ok with this. I think on her patreon you can check the whole vod out with no edit but I guess most wouldn't spend money to watch it so that kinda proves my point. Again many like me agree that buzz sound should be removed to enjoy more, but I just think it could also happen to just be part of this video that makes it better for youtube than let's say a documentary/documentation. It makes it a better entertainment for most i think. (p.s. i am not saying non musicians want the buzz in but if ur willing enough to comment then you're probably among the 0.2% of those who watched, or 3% of those who liked, that cared enough about such thing. Be mindful that many others didn't even bother)
