Hi, any chance you're still selling the kit you mentioned for the cable-pull release for the rear hatch? Thanks!!

This is great! Where was this video before I ordered a replacement handle? 😅 Regardless I think I will do it anyway and see if I can mount the handle inside and use it with the cable for an interior release.

Great video man It's a shame that Toyota did not recall this bad design I've had to replace the handle latch twice and right now it won't open unless it's 70゚ outside Because it's bent.

With no cable, are you still able to open from the inside of the vehicle? @aireddown Adventures
@aireddownadventures8173 Жыл бұрын
You can still route the cable into the vehicle if you're wanting to open it from the inside. I have another video on my channel where I routed a cable into the vehicle with the bypass handle installed and both work flawlessly.

Is the factory handle still able to be used simultaneously with this mod? Thank you
@aireddownadventures81732 жыл бұрын
It can, you'll just have to wedge the cable in between the bypass handle and the latch mechanism but it's designed to bypass the factory handle and cable in general

Very cool modification. How do I get the kit. Or did you manufacture yourself . Either way thanks for sharing

looks simple enough, but my question is what about the dust that gets in the locking slot, which is the real reason the handle breaks in the first place? I noticed you heve stopped using both dust covers. All it takes is about 10 miles down a dirt road and the lock will get covered in dust and will not unlock. I have replaced the whole thing atleast three times. Have you had this problem?
@aireddownadventures81732 жыл бұрын
You can modify the cover to make a tiny slit so the handle can move. Which isnt any bigger than the stricker hole is it self. I haven't have any issues with them off. It's been a year and living in Arizona and off roading weekly is been great, I just spray the internals with white lithium grease once a month. Replaced the lock actuator and the latch mechanism(due to being worn out and rattling) once in the 2 years of ownership. Actuator is about 2 years old and is still doing great.

@@aireddownadventures8173 I'll try the lithium grease. I'm in Arizona also, I'm looking for other sequoia offroaders to bounce ideas off of, or maybe hit a trail.
