We have been in Manta for just under a year and the return of the humidity has us looking forward to a month ling trip to Cuenca to see if it could be a place for us. We have loved your videos from the states and rewatching them now.

Hola, guys! I just stumbled on your channel and I’m enjoying watching while I plot my own escape to Cuenca. I’ve fallen in love with Ecuador even though I’ve never been there before. I’ll make an exploratory trip first, 0:03 but for now Cuenca is the goal. First problem is getting rid of all my stuff. 😳 Do either of you speak Spanish? I don’t but I’ll work in it. Have you decided which neighborhood you plan to stay in? Keep ‘em coming!

We had researched Ecuador for a little over 10 years. We finally made the exploratory trip last year and fell head over heels. We had a different city in mind but changed it at the last minute to Cuenca and are very happy with the choice. We sold everything...it was almost life altering. At first it was a little scary but then we couldn't get rid of our stuff fast enough. we felt physically and mentally lighter. We did keep our most sentimental things. We both speak very very little Spanish, but we are learning. We have a couple different areas we like... so it will probably come down to pro and con. It seems to be a really beaituful city... What about cultural activities like thater, music concerts, cinema, etc.

It is a beautiful city. There are a lot of museums, we've only been in 2 so far but plan to go to more. We've been told about several theaters and concerts.. so when we're able to go we will definitely be making a video on that. They have a lot of free activities and free outdoor concerts as well too. We love it. It definitely stole my heart. Our exploratory trip, we were only there 10 days and I wanted to cry when we left. But when we did and we were back in the states I felt like I was missing home. For me and my husband, I think it was us researching Ecuador for almost 10 years and then when we finally were there it was all and more of what we dreamt of. But I do suggest anyone who wants to move to another state, country or even city...explore the place before making the big leap. Make sure it is something that you can live with and in. I can’t believe I just now discovered your channel I thought I was subscribe to everyone living in Cuenca 😅 I am in Mexico I got my residency here last year however I want to get a second residency in Ecuador and my flight is booked for the second week of next month August 2023. I immediately recognized your accent as I am from Texas. Specifically was born and raised at Surfside Beach Texas South Houston. I haven’t watched all of your videos yet but I was determined to find out where in the south you guys were from and I found it. The beautiful state of Tennessee. I love it that he is a pro bass fisherman as my parents did a lot of bass tournaments when I was growing up in Texas. When I was 10 years old I had the honor of visiting the very first Bass Pro shops in Springfield Missouri When we drove up to pick up my parents bass tracker 😂

@@ericandsandy I should’ve known. The folks from South Carolina have the best southern accent in this south 😍 I’ve been living here in Playa del Carmen for almost 2 years. Not the real MMéxicoin my humble opinion. Where in Mexico did you get to visit? I truly love Mexico however I can’t stop thinking about Ecuador. I loved seeing it through your eyes. I loved it when you and Eric just stopped in the middle of the video in silence and I could feel you taking the beautiful nature in to your soul. This is the part of Ecuador I’m so excited about.

I used to go to Rocky Point (Puerto penasco) way back in the day...it was so much fun. We would make friends with the people who worked at the place we stayed..they ended up family because we only stayed there when we would visit. They would take us (friends) out to all the local bars after their shifts were over. Best times!! I can tell you, when Eric and I were here last year for 6 weeks..we had to go back to help my dad move to Idaho and get him all set up with new dr's etc..we felt like we were missing home so bad...that's when we truly knew Ecuador had our hearts.

We started the KZfaq channel to share our travels with friends and family initially. Then I just fell in love with being a content creator. I've always been into making videos. From the camera equipment, to the editing, telling the stories. I enjoy the whole process. Not working full time anymore it helps give me more purpose in this season of our lives. Sandy and I don't have any kids it's also a way to have some lasting memories. We like to share with others. And trying to put smiles on people's faces. We would have this channel no matter where we ended up... Thanks for watching
