Pentatonix are the best. They all have great voices. But together they have a special magic. Their "evolution" videos show their mastery at Arranging. Their famous covers include, Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Sound of Silence. They are also well known for their Christmas songs. Thanks for the reaction.

The guy on the bottom left is Avi Kaplan. He is what's called a superbass. He can go so low he can actually blow speakers. He can also do overtone singing which is singing two notes at one time. If you want to hear some REALLY amazing bass, listen to Ring Of Fire by Home Free with Avi Kaplan. The guy on the right is Kevin Olusola and he can beat box, sing, AND play cello at the same time.

Avi left the group in late 2017 and has a amazing solo career ( he left on good terms having been a member from 2011 to 2017) He was replaced by Matt Sallee . Other than that THEY ARE THE SAME MEMBERS! Kirstie and Mitch change their looks A LOT!! MORE PTX REACTIONS!!👏😃

The three in the back row (Mitch, Scott & Kirstin) grew up together, becoming inseparable in high school, where they sang together in several choirs and musical theater. When they decided to formally form a group in 2011 to compete on the Sing-Off, an a cappella competitions NBC, they added the bass (Avi, a friend of a friend) and Kevin (beatboxer who had a viral KZfaq video at the time). The ended up winning the competition.

ODD REACTIONS they’ve had one line up change in their 9 year history, with Avi, the bass, leaving (on v good terms) in 2017. Videos from then forward have the new bass, Matt, who is different, but equally excellent.

@@ODDREACTIONS you should do the Sing-off (season 3, 2011) performances - you can see what the infant group was like in their first performances together, and how they evolved just over the span of the show. (i'd recommend eventually seeing the entire episodes - though perhaps not as reactions - to see what they were up against.) Home Free were there the next season of the show (season 4, 2013). The main difference is that they had already been an established group and touring together for years, and trio had just met their rhythm section weeks before. (Home Fries, don't bite me; i LOVE both groups!)

Mitch - denim is a counter tenor who is very rare. Scott (tall guy) has a fantastic range. He is a baritone and sings bass when Avi (left in 2017) and Matt Kirstie - mezzo soprano Avi is a true basso profundo. He majored in opera. Kevin (beatbox) is incredible and also plays the cello. He has played at Carnagie Hall twice. He deferred medical school for the Sing Off. Scott. Kirstie and Mitch went to school together in Arlington. Scott was at USC and Kirstie was at OU. Mitch was still in High School when they auditioned. Avi they knew through a friend. Kevin had a viral video of him playing cello and beatboxing. The first time they sung together was the audition. All of them are tremendous. I hope you watch more. Scott and Mitch have a side project called SuperFruit. Amazing as well.

Kevin the beat boxer They found on KZfaq. He also plays the cello while beatboxing. He calls this Hello boxing. He plays several instruments comments speaks fluent mandarin, and has attended some of the best schools. He does play cello in some of their videos. He does occasionally sing. If I recall correctly They found avy through A friend. After2017Left the group for personal reasons on good terms And matt became the base. Avi helped find matt.

You are right, they each have branched out on their own. When Avi, left the group in 2017, the other members came out with their own works. Kirstie, has some amazing powerful songs, Mitch, and Scott released an EP under the name of Superfruit, the name of their KZfaq channel. Kevin, has released some great works, from playing around with his cello, beat boxing and sampling to his cover of Cyndi Laupers, True Colors. Shortly after Avi, came out with some of his own stuff from working with a folk band to his powerful war call like song Change on the Rise. It will blow you away.

Kirsten went to a vocal school for 5 part harmonies, Mitch didn't go to college I don't think, he went right into the sing off as Kirstie and Scott was a year ahead of him in school. Scott went to music school also after graduation. (And Todrick Hall was a year older than Scott and Kirstie and they are all friends. You will get to know Tod H. when you experience Wizard of Ahhhs) Another episode of their experience....Kevin, Beatboxer, was in Medical school but also studied cello, beatbox-cello, and studied in an Asian country and knows Mandarin, but the group found him on You Tube vids and asked him to go on the Sing Off. Scott's friend who helps with arrangements, Ben Braun knew of Avi....they formed the group Pentatonix (meaning 5 note scale in an octave) I think that's how it goes...Someone will correct me if I'm wrong..for sure. Just a little history if your interested. Thank you for sharing your experience and reacting. Down the rabbit hole! YAY!
