This is her real voice. She stands out no matter what she sings. I have heard her sing Carpenter covers, a new song composed for her and a Capella. She is so gifted and has to be perfect pitch, not associative pitch to sound like this. One in a million! Many blessings to you Tori. ❤

Thankyou for your kind words here Sue. The reason I suggested to Tori that we do this song is because I'd seen the clip of when the Carpenters appeared on the Perry Como show and Karen sang one verse of this song in a medley they did together. It was so gorgeous I wished that Karen had recorded the full song. So I took a chance and sent Tori my piano track which I played in the key Karen had sung it in. I didn't even know if Tori knew the song. Well imagine my delight when she told me it was one of her favourite songs but hadn't done it yet as she couldn't find a backing track in the right key. Well, as you see the rest is history. I truly believe that on this song Tori completed the great job that Karen started all those years ago.

I loved this song when it was release by Perry - watched the Perry Como Show toward the end of it's run in 1963. Tori's cover is mesmerizing, she has such a gentle and calming tone. Yes, I did checkout ALL her content on her channel - nice for something new! Hope she keeps it coming... BTW Lucy Thomas is also 20 and is from England; recently had her 1st live stage concert in Manchester her setlist had 17 songs including At Last, Somewhere (from West Side Story), The Prayer, A Thousand Years, Evergreen (from A Star is Born), Hallelujah and many more. Not all are available on YT so far I found Hallelujah, Somewhere, At Last and We can Change the World.

Brilliant reaction once again Sue and anyone who thinks the world is a big place, then this trans Atlantic collaboration will dispel this immediately. You got on to this very quickly as this has just been dropped so kudos to you as long gone are the days of recording contracts such as Richard and Karen were able to launch in their meteoric rise to stardom, and sales of LP albums and CDs are a thing of the past, along with listening to the radio to hear the next wave of rising artists. So it would seem that reviewers such as you will be fulfilling this new and increasing role of highlighting the new and talented artists such as Tori, to a new and burgeoning audience, so thanks once again.

Hi He He, yes originally the English version of the song was going to be given to Elvis but the writer, Sid Wayne decided to give it to Perry Como instead. Tori did an amazing job on this 🤩

Hey Joe, so glad you enjoyed it. It was fantastic. Tori hit a home run again with that one....great version. I didn't see what you were talking about exactly but there seemed to be a cut out of someone on the side so I am wondering if it was a cut out of Karen....perhaps? 🤩💚

@@playitagainsue probably a Richard cut out. He appeared in We’ve Only Just Begun. One of 3 Easter eggs in that song. The drums and her “good ole’ Tascam 24, were the other two. RC was looking over her shoulder. 🙏 In this one it’s much MORE obvious. But the Carpenters Connection isn’t as obvious.

@@playitagainsueKZfaq erased my reply. Let’s try again. It’s the microphone. It’s a Neumann U87. The current model of mic Karen used at A&M. ❤ There was another a U45 I think but the 87 was her mic of choice. Listen again knowing that, you can hear the spaciousness clarity oh my. Great investment.

Tori Fantastic as usual but this is just too Easy Listening for me Although i appreciate the skill of the craft of composition and Tori and Dans interpretation , I really would love to hear Tori take on something more contemporary . Crazy as it may sound Ive been think about what ii would like to hear her sing and i keep coming back to The Pretenders
