Great video! I had cramping and bleeding in the first trimester of my last pregnancy. It was very scary and my OB and I decided to do bed rest and progesterone for a while to help. We expected bad news for the first two sonograms, but each time things were progressing well (they did find a SCH). So thankful to God for our now 8 month old girl!

Wish I had this video last year when I went through mine! If anyone else is currently experiencing an SCH, I send my love and support your way. It is traumatizing. I visited the depths of Google during mine. Your explanation was honestly the best I've found. I just could not figure out why that blood was present, and blamed myself and activity level. I experienced heavy bleeding once a week for four straight weeks. My IVF clinic was so kind to let me come in for an ultrasound after each episode. I was reassured my SCH was "not the biggest" they've seen, and in a location that should not threaten the fetus (apparently the location of the SCH can be a potential factor for outcome?) Anyway, thank you for this video and I hope it helps and comforts someone else. I ended up having a completely routine and full term pregnancy once my SCH was resolved at 10 weeks, but that stress and worry never fully went away.

I had light bleeding/spotting throughout my whole first trimester. I made my first appointment and told them I was experiencing bleeding. My doctor and nurse did not seem too concerned. They did give me an order for an ultrasound, but I had to go to a different building to get it scheduled. I was fully expecting I’d get the ultrasound that day but they said my first ultrasound would have to be when I was 14 weeks. Even though I told her I was bleeding she said the doctor didn’t say it was urgent or an emergency so I would have to wait. So I was bleeding the whole time just hoping everything was ok and that the doctor knew what he was doing. My daughter is currently 5 1/2 months old. So everything worked out.

I'm so glad you're covering this. I had bleeding in the first trimester with both my pregnancies (luckily both was light bleeding). The last one was even scarier because it lasted for 3 weeks. Doctor gave me progesterone and I took it easy during that time. So glad everything went well 🙌

When I was 8 weeks pregnant, I was super sick with different symptoms, so they sent me to er. They were checking for ectopic pregnancy and they found hemorrhage. My obgyn was so whatever on 9 weeks appointment, on 16 weeks was no scan even I asked for that and bullying me, because ultrasound won’t change outcome. I waited 12 weeks for checking if that hemorrhage dissolved. I developed such a strong anxiety that whole pregnancy I worried about miscarriage/premature birth. Every visit in the toilet and worrying about seeing blood. I switched doctor when I was 20 weeks. New one was amazing, but anxiety stayed with me. Just wanted to share how much impact doctor can have and patients are also humans and want to be treated like that. 😢

I had a large SCH and bled PROFUSELY multiple times requiring hospitalization. It was SO nerve wracking. Baby was born healthy.

My early bleeding ended up being an ectopic pregnancy. I also ended up having a large cyst that was bleeding. I was rushed to surgery. I am so glad I had previously established care with my doctor (from a preconception appointment) and they saw me when I bled and listened to me.

Me at 6 weeks: Referred to ER for suspected ectopic- not ectopic BUT SCH found. Follow up ultrasound at 8 weeks- SCH resolved BUT placental cysts found - follow up ultrasound at 12 weeks… all was well 🎉💛. Through the uncertainty I was thankful for great OB care and some extra sneak peaks of our little guy. This video is a great resource!

A week ago, at 5,4 weeks pregnant I had a small bleeding (like the beginning of my period). So I immediately went to de OB ER and was diagnosed with an hematoma. Until the diagnose I was quite nervous. Since there was nothing else I could do but rest and wait, I focused on asking to all my family and friends to send good and healing vibes and meditated daily, worked on my mindset and focused on being present with my breathing and my baby that in that present moment is still with me. In the end parenthood is surrendering to the universe and that anything can happen at any time to that human being that you love so much. So we need to learn how to work and deal to this fear of loss. 3 days ago I kind of felt my baby is safe and out of danger. I’ll have my follow up ultrasound in 2 days so I hope my heart is right 🤞 There’s a very beautiful poem by a Portuguese author that says “the heart knows reasons that the reason doesn’t know”

Miscarried in June, had 3 baseball-sized clots fall out in October at 9 weeks (2 in very public places...) due to subchorionic hematomas that my OB tried to diagnose as a molar pregnancy. Not fun, & wish I'd seen this video first! Just hit week 25, and greatly appreciating all your videos!

I had one of these SCH. they said it was 11ml of old blood that will either absorb back into the body, come out as a gush or come out gradually with spotting. At my 9th week I had a miscarriage. most painful thing I've ever experienced - both physically and emotionally. 10 hours of intense contractions and passing big and small blood clots. Was hospitalised too before this happened as I was cramping badly and bleeding. upon a scan they told me the fetus stopped growing at 7 weeks so I was walking around with a dead baby for 2 weeks. literal horror story. 9 months on, I'm still traumatised at what I went through

My first pregnancy I didn’t have any bleeding and it turned out a non evolutive pregnancy at 9 week wich I found out at 12 weeks. My second pregnancy I had a massive bleeding at 6 weeks until 9 weeks and then at 14 weeks (sch) until 16 weeks. Now my son is one year old and healthy. I am at my third pregnancy now 13 weeks and I also had a little spotting this time. So everything is possible.

This would have been great to see in my first trimester as I had SCH and the ER doctors did no further explaining towards it and due to my heavy cramping and spotting they just said to brace myself leaving me with anxiety everytime I would go to the restroom but thanks to my ultrasound tech for my anatomy scans she was able to give me information and relief on it, now I have my healthy 2 month old 💙 But thank you for making this video that I can now share for others that might go through this

I had an IVF pregnancy and also bleed around 6.5 weeks. The bleeding was old blood., not bright red. But it was scariest situation ever. Luckily the hospital was great and they saw me straight away. They couldnt determine the cause. The bleeding last maybe a week and luckily I had a healthy pregnancy but I was constantly scared and nervous throughout the pregnancy.

Helpful video. I had a missed miscarriage in 2021 he stopped growing at 6w2d but i didnt find out til 11 week ultrasound. No bleeding or other signs. D&C at 12 week mark. So when i conceived this baby and started bleeding, cramping & even fainted one night at 5 weeks i panicked hard. Between 5-8 weeks i had 3 ultrasounds to monitor the bleeding / baby. Bleeding stopped at 8 weeks and his heart beat started up around mid 6 week mark. It was scary at first but it ended well. I am 33.3 weeks right now ❤

I am 30 and conceived naturally. At 6 weeks of pregnancy, found that i had subchorionic haematoma. I had spotting and started bleeding like normal periods. Eventually had miscarriage at 7 weeks in January this year😢

Going thru years of infertility, I finally got pregnant thru IVF and when I started bleeding I thought for sure it was a miscarriage. Never heard of SCH and that’s what it was. Thankfully never caused me any problems but anxiety during my pregnancy but by my 3rd trimester I had no more bleeding.

Question: I work as a dental assistant and have heard about dangers of being in the room while someone is on nitrous oxide while pregnant. Should I be concerned about this? Also is taking X-rays with a nomad (holding the nomad with no lead apron provided) ok while pregnant? Thanks!

This is something that has always bothered me and I never got an answer to it hoping you guys could help? In my first pregnancy I started bleeding around week 6 it started light and got heavier with cramping but my hcg levels kept going up but my obg at the time told me the pregnancy ended at 5 weeks. I spotted my whole pregnancy with my 2nd. I ended up going to the ER around 10 weeks because I was bleeding like crazy. They told me I had subchronic hemotoma. I saw baby move and heard the heart beat. 3 weeks later I was passing blood clots and ended up miscarrying. My dr told me that the miscarriage was the reason for the subchronic hemotoma. Which makes 0 sense to me 10:07

I have a strong family history of hypertension with l also having some up and downs in BP. Initially my obg was planning for aspirin but I developed a large SCH so aspirin was not started but she is stilling planning when SCH starts to resolve. Please advise. Ps it’s my first natural pregnancy at 32 yes with no history of abortion. Please guide whether should I start it?

Should I ask my doctor for a requsition for a follow up scan now that I know its already over a month since it was in my sonogram

After bleeding the scan shows heartbeat with healthy 131 bpm. And 10-20% SCH. Advise me bed rest.please advise to avoid miscarriage .

Hello, Can hiit exercises cause spotting? It’s def just brown spotting but I still don’t like to see it and wonder what the cause is. I’ve been avoiding intercourse until my ultrasound so I’m not sure what is causing the brown spotting (every other day, super light). Should I stop hiit exercising? When do I need to do modifications? I thought if I’ve been exercising that way before pregnancy I can continue to do the same. But the spotting is really bothering me Thanks in advance!

Thank you for addressing exercise!! I’m 8 weeks and they found a small subchorionic hemorrhage at the ER earlier this week (I was bleeding). I am a very active person and exercise is so essential to my mental health. Others in my due date group with an SCH completely cut out exercise, and I was feeling so guilty for continuing to run and weight lift (though I’m planning on cutting back slightly on my lifts since I sometimes spot 24 hours after). I knew there was no evidence supporting changing activities and my obgyn just said avoid stuff if it leads to bleeding, but I appreciate you both addressing it head on. I just don’t know how I’d go through pregnancy without being able to exercise (let alone labor!!).

With my first preg i had no bleeding. With my second baby im having bleeding for 2 days. Scan didnt show anything as im too early, they took a blood test, i have to do another blood test in 2 days to see the hcg levels, after 10 days theyll do another scan.

This is extremely helpful. Just had my 8 week ultrasound today and a small SCH was found. No vaginal bleeding. Follow up ultrasound in 4 weeks. Hopefully it’s gone by then.

I had what I assume was bleeding from a subchorionic hematoma at 13 weeks and it was so scary. I thought I had miscarried. I wasn't able to be seen by my OB/GYN until 4 days later for my already scheduled appointment so waiting to know my baby was fine was honestly hell. Nothing had been found on my 9 week ultrasound and when I asked if this was a SH, no one had an answer for me. Seeing my healthy wiggly baby in an ultrasound after that happened was one of the best days ever. I am thankful for info on the subject, like this video. I am now at 21 weeks and doing well.

I've had 2 visits to the ER. With some bleeding and clotting at 13 weeks. All I was told was that the baby was ok.. and that my cervix looked fine. To go on bed rest and take it easy No one could tell me why I had been spotting since week 7.. and bled in week 13. If you have spotting or bleeding STOP eating foods that have BROMELAIN: pineapple, papaya(have the highest dose). But also, avocados, mangos, bananas, kiwi kimchi, Ginger. Look up a list and see if you eat any of those. I spotted and bled since week 7 -14. I BLED when I are pineapple and papaya and had spotting with all the other foods. Once I took these out of my diet .ALL Spotting AND BLEEDING stopped. It's not a myth. Most women are ok eating these food. But this could be the reason for bleeding for mane others. It was for me. I was told the same thing"threaten miscarriage". It was all the food I was eating that have BROMELAIN. ITS WORTH TO TRY . YOU WILL KNOW WITHIN A FEW DAYS IF THAT'S YOUR ISSUE. Currently 13 weeks my doctor found an SCH at 10 weeks 6 days as I had bright red bleeding and cramps. Doing so much better on pelvic rest and no exercise hoping at my 15 week ultrasound in exactly two weeks it has resolved. ❤️
