I still remember the struggle to get 1 million views in 24 hours for this MV when it first came out. I used to rewatch this MV atleast 20 times in 1 hour but it was still not enough to get that 1 million views within 24 hours. But to see how far they have come to getting 1 million views in seconds, just warms my heart and I'm super proud of them. You have made it BTS 🙇‍♀️

This is how I interpreted it: Suga: The girl was playing around with him, using him as some sort of a rebound. The room he was in symbolized her keeping him in the dark, going to him only when she felt like it. The lighter in his hand signified the relationship. The constant flame-on and flame-off thing was like his relationship with her, on and off. When he finally threw the lighter, it was him being done with being her rebound. J-Hope: The girl used him as a way to boost her confidence. In a way, he carried her flaws. She made him feel so flawed so that she'd be in control instead. Him looking into the mirror, scrutinizing his face was him questioning if it was worth letting her put him down. Those pills in the cupboard signified the girl. She was killing him, draining him of everything and he knew she wasn't worth all that but she was addictive, just like those pills. He had grown so accustomed to her (just like those pills) that he needed a constant dose of her (those pills) just so he wouldn't feel the withdrawal. Him throwing away those pills was him giving up on her. The pills falling bits by bits signified him forgetting her slowly though his expression showed signs of withdrawal. Taehyung: The girl wasn't his. But the girl constantly went to him, informing him of her abusive boyfriend and Taehyung's just there waiting for her to leave that abusive boyfriend of hers and come to him instead but she couldn't do it. The line "Forgive me" as he made his way was him saying sorry for not doing anything earlier and he also says sorry for helping her in the worst way possible. The part where he wandered about with that rod in his hand was him contemplating his actions but eventually he made up his mind. He heads to her home and "kills" her boyfriend. When that happened, the girl was gone. In other words, she left him because even though he somewhat intended to help her, she still sided her abusive boyfriend. Him crying out expressed his frustration towards her but a second later where his cries decreased a slightly different kind of expression, that was him feeling as though the weight had been lifted off his chest. The weight was her. Jimin: The girl left him through a note. Him opening the tap signified the start of his sadness. The tub filling up signified him being swallowed by his heartbreak and pain. Him nearly dipping his whole head in was him nearly surrendering to depression but he didn't. Instead, he burned the note. And as it burned, he rose up, the sadness slowly draining away from him. Him letting the note go was him letting go of her. Rapmon: Him and the girl went about a cycle. Both of them knew it was the end but they let the cycle go on. She had pulled out of the cycle but he was still trying to keep her in. The petroleum station signified the two of them. Just like cars traveling everywhere only to still end up at the station to refill their oil tank, the two went about the cycle only to reach at the very same spot and each time, Rapmon would "add the oil" to attempt at "fueling" their relationship. The lollipop symbolized their relationship as well. Continue sucking on a lollipop and what do you get? Nothing, the flavor never changes, just like how no matter how hard he tried, the relationship wouldn't change. In the end, he accepts the fact that just like the lollipop, their relationship wasn't healthy. Him dumping the lollipop was him breaking out of the cycle. So what about the rest? Well let me talk about the scenes in which they were together as a group. The first ones were them being together physically but being elsewhere mentally. They didn't communicate, not even when they were walking on the railing. It was them individually pretending to be okay . The second scene in which they were rowdy and all, that was them escaping from the pain, wanting freedom. The end scene was basically the end stage of their recovery. Them sleeping was them finally resting in peace (they didn't die, that's not what I meant HAHA), the pain long gone. Jin: He represented all of them when they were together but mentally elsewhere. On the outside, they play it cool but on the inside, they were crying. The rose petals Jin laid out in the floor was the guys offering their love to the girl but the petals catching fire was the girl toying around with them, leaving the remnants of their love towards the girl. But Jin was basically the side of a guy which is seldom seen for guys always play it off as though they're okay. Jungkook: He symbolized them when they were rowdy and making their escape. Those bruises on him signified them getting hurt along the way as well as them being willing to "take a beating" for her but his scoff-smile was a way of showing that they were done with the girl. Jungkook wandering about and nearly getting hit by a car symbolized them being in a lost state, feeling completely numb before that whole escape thing. And there you go. :) Again, this is just how I viewed it haha

I don't really watch or listen to K-pop (I only hear global K-pop hits). I saw BTS' Blood, Sweat & Tears MV by chance on KZfaq. Since then, I've been checking out all BTS' music videos, live performances, shows and social media posts from the past. This group got the talent and star factor to make them globally marketable. I don't like too "groupie", manufactured K-pop groups to be honest; I'm Westernized. Bighit did a great job in cultivating BTS such that their individual and group artistry shine. I'm amazed with how BTS blends pop, hiphop, reggae, EDM and even ballad and soulful music. BTS got cool beats you won't mind playing at a party as a non-K-pop fan. Unlike other modern groups, they are able to tell their own and their age group's story---and it resonates! BTS music and performances just seem authentic and bleed with the artists' souls. Open-minded people, BTS fan or not, can acknowledge their music. Each member has his own role and charm. - Rapmon is the all-around cool, dorky, reliable leader with varied sorts of genius. From the start, he was vital to the creation of BTS and joining of Taekook. His rapping is flawless and topnotch. I think he can go toe-to-toe with internationally popular rappers. He's obviously smart--not just book smart but in music, in leading BTS. BTS is lucky to have him as their leader. He seems to have the talent and maturity to lead his peers to stardom. It always helps to have someone you look up to as a leader. It seems to me that he and Suga are BTS' anchor and compass. More great music to come! - Jin is the beautiful adorkable hyung. I'm not really a fan of "pretty boys" but he is that celebrity that when you see, you'd say "beautiful." He adds to this group's uniqueness with his blend of grandpa, mommy and childish charms. He looks after the members too especially with his cooking. He has beautiful vocals; I hope to hear him sing more. These days, I feel that he's evolved as a moodmaker as well. With his impeccable self-confidence, he's definitely BTS' ace for variety shows! Lol. - Suga is the tough guy from the outside but is actually also sensitive, deep and reliable. He seems to show his affections more through actions instead of words. He caught my attention cause of his "swag" (I don't llike this term but that's really how to put it). Like V, he is what-you-see-is-what-you-get..there's a charm in his bluntness and rough edges. As an artist, he seems so natural and effortless in his rap. His deep passion for music can be felt in BTS albums and his mixtape. Tremendous asset! - J-hope is the loud and silly hyung with a big heart and dope rap and moves. He is passion and energy brought to life. You can feel it in his dancing and rapping. He always gives 100%. He and Kookie seem the most versatile as they can do rapping, singing, dancing well. Cheerful, fun-loving and positive, he's probably one of the most loved by the members. He and Vmin are definitely BTS' moodmakers. - Jimin is the warm and ki(n)d prince charming. He has this inexplicable charisma onstage that just draws you in. He captivates with his performer talent; the dynamism, emotional singing and dancing, and presence are topnotch. You just feel something when he performs; he stands out! On and off stage, it always amazes me how he morphs from angelic to cute to sexy to cold in a blink of an eye...and how he is both the pseudo maknae and the pseudo eldest hyung (along with Hobi as per Namjoon). He's a natural charmer and there are so many layers to him. I believe he and J-hope are BTS' glue. He's BTS' go-to guy--the kindest and most caring member according to the members. Always supportive and giving of himself, Jimin is that friend we all want to have. - V is the "shameless" charismatic celebrity who embodies fun, youth and "real-ness". He's a magnet! He was too feminine for my taste at first (like Jin) but upon seeing their social media videos, he grew on me. V is beautiful. And he seems like the party animal that's also genuine, filial, heart-warming and quirky. Yes, I love V's quirks and antics! V is always a pleasure to watch in anything whether he does well or not--cause he has no inhibitions! He adorably just enjoys and savors every moment. This young man probably has the greatest potential in acting. I've always loved his soulful singing; I hope to hear him sing more ballads in the future. - Kookie is the hot alpha dude who's great in anything he focuses on (unfair?). He stands out cause of his boyish charisma. He has this rebellious side for sure. And his mischievous bullying--his way of expressing affection to hyungs--screams maknae! I feel that at a young age, he has tried to catch up with and excel--to not be a burden and instead be someone his hyungs can rely on. A true golden maknae. I guess that and making them laugh are among tough Kookie's way of caring for them. He gives me that vibe that he doesn't get close to people easily but is fiercely loyal to his inner circle. Suga and he are like that, I think. I don't know why I'm writing this long comment. BTS captivated me with one video. Now, I'm stanning them so hard. This group is different. I look forward to more great music from BTS! More power!
