1UZ VVTi V8 Swapped Toyota Truck Drag Racing

Ran into this really clean truck at Cecil County Dragway recently during a test and tune. Immediately hearing the tone of the engine I knew it had some type of cool swap in it. Ended up being kept in the family, using a 1UZ VVTi 4.0L V8 Lexus motor. This has to be a blast on the street!

I absolutely love this generation of Toyota truck. That is a super-clean build, too. What I wouldn't give to be able to sport this thing around.

I've got a soft spot for those old toyotas. My first car was a 85 Toyota Xtra-Cab Deluxe. Always wanted to 4g63 swap one... It's like an old shoe.

A yoda mini truck that looks great, clean and has an awesome swap this isn't an LS, or in toyota case 2jz (I love the 2jz but tbf, even that's getting a little old, still cool tho) It's also pretty fast.

Twobarpsi ah yes the almighty LS....wait remind me again how much displacement that engine had the severe lack of power it should make for its size. This is a 4.0L that makes more power than those garbage 4.6L mustangs and that trash 5.8L gm. Face it DOHC makes the most power. LS only advantage is cheap parts.

Nice man. I have an 87 Toyota mini with a non-vvti 1uz and a w58 transmission. I consistently run low 14 second 1/4 mike @ 99 mph. Can’t make any traction in 1st and second gear. Gonna swap in a 3uz this fall.

If you keep the 1uz transmission it's way easier to swap anyhow! In the later years they came with 5 speed and even a 6 speed auto for a couple years

SencilloViews on this truck he has a donor gs400 so we actually just used the immobilized from that, we just had to wire it.

There using all stock parts so that's not bad at all,and no your baby daddy's miata would not beat this truck.
