The auxiliary instruments are always wayyyy too forward in the mix on these sessions. In the case of Anderson I bet it's hard as hell to mix his vocals due to him playing drums as well.

rebelpig1210 Still could turn up the vocals and turn down close drum mics, or at least turn down backup vocals and aux percussion. Lots of ways to make it work!

Paak loved to whisper while ruining his drums with extreme force, but still not impossible lol. Someone just made a shitty job,amateur level crap.

I loved the tiny desk concert just as much or more than most, but when this shit hits that double time at the end I get goosebumps. Both versions are great in their own right. The mixing was undeniably better on tiny desk though, I will give y'all that.

I love this rendition, the band was on point, the arrangements were dope, it was a little hard to hear, but I enjoyed watching everything. Music nowadays doesn't typically stimulate my brain however, I felt this was very enjoyable.

It's time to expand your music horizons if "snarky puppy" comes to mind when hearing this. Dont get me wrong, i love the puppies and i love that they're mainstream enough for your generation to care about jazz and funk, but the fact that theres more than 3 musicinas on stage doesnt make everything sound like snarky puppy =D PS : The mix is awful, and snarky always has top notch mix in their videos, it's really not flattering. PPS : BBC, it's time to stop letting interns manage the live mix, good performance got ruined.

@@LetsChat A single engineer, and a very simple setup mastered to perfection, he explains it in an interview you can find on tiny desk. Pretty much just 3 overheads and a real good balancing at any tiny desk...
