EXCELLENT decision by the spotter at 4:05. The lead guy cheated, so the spotter put the second car on the same stretch, epic! And the cheering at 6:06!

Okay, everyone, listen up! R/C racing is not cheap, nor for the faint of heart. Even at the club level, these guys are serious racers. Expect to have about $1000 to start from scratch. Tools, batteries, chargers spare tires and parts all need to be factored in. Brands you should look for include the following: Associated, Losi, X-Ray, Kyosho, Futaba, Airtronics, Spectrum, and J.R. Do not buy a ready to run Traxxas or H.P.I. Be prepared to build your car from a kit. Do your research! Make your car as bulletproof as possible. Practice, practice, practice. Then practice some more! "A Main Hobbies" is an excellent source for, well, everything you will need... Oh, by the way, it's even more fun than it looks.

Ok just to clear things up, these are brushless 4wd buggies. I don't know if its 16 or 10 scale. They are powered by lithium based ion/polymer batteries. They appear to be using carpet designed tires. They electronics are hobby-grade brushless motors and escs. Each car will have very different specifications so don't bother asking, in my opinion they are castle's. now stop asking about the cars.

What brushless systems are they running damn
@geddy19726 жыл бұрын
i use to race these back in the late 80's and early 90's. they were never that fast back then !!. are they really electric ? if so what batteries and motors are they running ?
@alanprihoda77726 жыл бұрын
geddy1972 they use brushless electric motors now. No brushes to wear out, tons more power almost 0 maintenance, they run the same every time you drive. Batteries are lithium polymer, lipo, roughly the same voltage as the nickel cadmium and nickel metal hydride bateries of the 80's and 90's but so much more capacity and almost no voltage drop as the pack runs down. Dont forget the cars themselves, the drivetrains are some much more efficient and the suspension geometry allows for much higher corner speeds. Add it all up and this is what you get.

Can someone please let me know what kind of a carpet surface this is? and how much will it cost to set up this surface?
@gloverelaxis6 жыл бұрын
they should have emergency lights on the cars with two colours; when you press a "help" button, only then can a helper pick up the car to reset it. after a certain agreed-upon time, then the lights change colour and the car can be released. then it'd be a lot fairer race; you'd get a preset time penalty for flipping over and the helpers couldn't accidentally favour some cars by working faster or slower
@mtbasher6 жыл бұрын
gloverelaxis sounds complicated and expecting every new racer to remember that would be a chore. Imagine if there were multiple cars flipped and one marshal. At our track whoever crashed first gets marshalled first.

Also people looking to start in the hobby, look at HSP vehicles they are extremely cheap and parts are very plentiful. They are also a great platform to further upgrade the cars electronics and batteries. A brushless buggy that is about as fast as these will cost $120 including a battery and transmitter. It will keep going that fast until you crash. At those speeds you car will most likely break something. Part support people! It exists with HSP cars. Look on ebay. Any questions, message me. :)

@flukeman02211 жыл бұрын
What I mean is both cars went over the line and the officals allowed it, would of thought nobody is allowed to do that because it wouldn't be fair on other contestants who don't cut corners. If this is just a bit off fun I guess it's ok to do that, but if it's a competition where you can win prizes then that's really bad!
