My Airbnb host had suggested that I visit a popular restaurant near the apartment called Suat Usta Mersin Tantuni. They specialise in 'Tantuni' which is crushed meat that is boiled in salted water and then fried on a large pan with cotton oil.
The best way to eat tantuni, according to the owner's son, is in a durum wrap and with lemon squeezed on top of it.
I tried both the beef version and the chicken one. The $2 beef tantuni was the winner for me. The strips of beef are tender and aren't overly seasoned. There's no sauce added, so most of the flavour of the meal is coming from the beef, a nice meaty, natural taste.

There's something about Turkish cuisine you just have to love. Be it the fresh, shining tomatoes, the use of fresh spices and herbs or their freshly made bread. You always find something lovely in their dishes and theirbrestaurants are clean and their staff is always good for a joke. Greetings from Germany

Nope, really really not, my friend. Most people don't care about Turks or Turkey, only showing slight concern when you invade our airspace. As for borrowing or getting some inspiration from Turkey... Thats what happens when your country is occupied for nearly four centuries. Edit: And for the record, there's no such thing as tantuni or tantuniki as you said in Greece.

Greek cuisine is famous for not just being inspired by Turkish cuisine, but outight known for plainly stealing Turkish culture and food with examples even reaching to America like Turkish Yoghurt ("Greek Yoghurt), Döner Kebab ("Gyros") or Baklava. You guys would be forgiven if you clearly stated that all of the stuff you eat is thanks to the Turkish neighbours, but you clearly lack the decency to do so, so we will continue our due dilligence to make sure at least the world knows about your thievery. 😢 Oh, btw, the airspace "violations" in the Aegean sea would probably end, if you'd attach your airspace to the borders of your actual territorial waters like anybody else would think is logical. Having territorial waters at 6 miles and airspace at 10 miles is just screaming stupidity. So, how about you limit your airspace to 6 miles like down on the sea and these "violations" disappear like magic and we become good neighbors again? Deal?😊

Tantuni is made with cotton oil. That is the most important part. For it to be called tantuni, it must be cooked in cotton oil. Also it is generally eaten with lemon on side. You squeeze a little bit on each bite. Inside is fresh onion, parsley and tomato not grilled so lemon goes nice with it.
