OMIGOSH - I did this today and it was much less scary than I thought it would be! I did it on a practice cuff, it looks great! I feel confident to move onto the real jeans! 💗💗

The problem is, many jeans have a taper to the legs, so hemming this way doesn't work. Please show us how to hem a tapered leg (boot cut) jeans.

I don't really get It. Why would you want to preserve the original hem? Is it not easier just cutting it and sewing a new one?

which is what I did, using a similar thread colour to the original. Much easier.

Because it's impossible to replicate that textured and shaded jeans hem at home. Without it jeans looks altered. If you don't mind not having this details than of course you can do as you said.

@@OnlyOneName thank you for your answer! I truly didn't understand the point and now I do. Personally, I wouldn't go through so much trouble because I'm too impatient and shit at sewing. But it's nice to know this technique

Is it possible to reshorten a pair of jeans that have already been shortened using this method? I ask because I have 3 pairs of jeans that have been shortened (professionally) by 2 inches but need to be shortened further by 1 inch.
