Pain & pleasure are good as signs to communicate where you need to stop or move forward. But they are both not good in the sense that ultimately all pain (physical or emotional) is suffering. & don't think of pleasure as something positive because pleasure has a tendency to get you addicted to certain behaviors. So may be our Indian advice from the ancients is best here for growth take one solution: beragye or detachment from both pain & pleasure. Don't you agree?
