Such a treat! But seriously, Rob sounds like a different artist than we hear when he sings with Home Free! I don't care for opera, but these two "tried" and did what I didn't expect--they made me want to watch it over and over again. Who knew? 🤭

Right? It does sound completely different. As for Opera, I am not a big fan either, but Dimash doing SOS and some of his other stuff can melt my heart. So, there are always exceptions. Rob really knocked this one out of the park!

A few years ago I was watching a Home Free mini documentary about there life on tour and travelling in there RV there's a point where there in there dressing rooms going through there warm ups the camera team walk down the corridor and as they pass a door you can here them warming up there vocals .it struck me when there stopped outside Robs door he was doing the scales like an opera singer so this only confirmed my suspension that Rob could sing opra

Rob and Austin from Home Free, I have been stopping from reactor to reactor to see the face of surprise, enjoyment and amazement and I see that on you Rob (berad and glasses) study opera in college but hasn't sung it in 15 years and Austin has a musical theater background. Both gents were nervous about how well this would go over with their fans. I enjoyed your reaction.

After hearing the beauty and power of Rob and Austin's voices within Home Free, it didn't surprise me in the least that sooner or later one or both of them would offer up an operatic selection. The Home Fries are so proud of Rob and Austin for their fearlessness in taking on an extremely intimidating genre. Even tho' Rob has operatic training from college, he said he hadn't sung opera for 15 years. You'd never know it by listening to him. Austin's training in musical theater performance provides a solid foundation for the performance of this beautiful aria. I think they should be extremely proud of this. They crushed it and sound phenomenal!! Thanks for a wonderful reaction.

Always wanting to expand their musical horizons, the guys of Home Free are always expanding their horizons. Rob had sang opera in college so he has had some training. Austin's training is in classical and musical theater, with help from Rob for this song. Outstanding effort by both.

Was this gorgeous !!! Rob & Austin outdid themselves. Rob studied opera in college but hadn't sung any for about 15 years when Austin approached him with this project. Austin studied musical theater in college...so I'm sure he was exposed to a lot of it there too.

Rob nails it with his previous training. If he had chosen, I'm sure he would have had a great career in Opera. I'm glad he chose Home Free. Austin does a very nice job. It is clear he has musical theater training and not operatic. What has really thrown me is the number of reaction/vocal coach channels that had listened to Home Free before and totally missed how much Rob holds back. It was always clear that he could project. and his tonality is amazing.

Sebastian is Austin's business partner and accompanies him on the piano in several other videos on his channel. Amberly is Austin's girlfriend and runs the camera. I understand she is also the one who encouraged Austin to wear his hair down for this video. The other channel is Beauty and the Bass (as in the fish, not the musical part) and is a channel where Austin and Amberly show us parts of their everyday lives and chat with fans and answer their questions.

Thanks for your reaction. I have never been a fan of opera except maybe some Andrea Bocelli & a few others. But I have always appreciated the talent it takes to sing opera. I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy.

I've been looking forward to your reaction to this one. Thanks for doing it. I think it's great that Austin featured Rob on his channel and let him shine! Notice that he looks to Rob for timing throughout the song. They both did a great job, but Rob sounds "more operatic" than Austin.

I am far from being an expert in opera but to me Rob sounds like an opera singer singing opera and Austin sounds like a great tenor singing opera. Rob studied opera in college but had not sung it in 15 years.

I was expecting to be rickrolled and then this happened. I knew they had good voices but didn’t know they could sound like this. Rob (glasses) had studied opera in college but hadn’t sung it in years. Austin studied musical theater. They were wonderful. Good reaction SEL.😄

🤣 So many of us Home Fries have been getting our kicks by watching reactors jaws hit the floor! And nearly every one has been most surprised by Rob because his sound is the most different. Austin still sounds like himself, just singing opera. But we also got some previous exposure to him using his musical theater training when he did Bring Him Home from Les Miserables. In any case, great reaction!

Sabastien is Austin's friend that plays keyboard, he did the music score, and Amberly is Austin's lady friend that is also on the "Lady and the Bass" ... bass as in the fish.....you can often find them fishing on that channel. Rob was trained in Opera in college...Austin is trained in theater...but also sang some Opera in college...there is nothing they can't do.

As someone mentioned Rob had sang Opera. Or rather was trained in Opera. He has not sung it for 15 years. Austin was trained in musical theater but his teacher was really pushing him to do Opera. Austin had to convince Rob to do this video. They were really concerned about how the home fries would take to it. They love it. If you want a extremely in-depth reaction to their singing I have provided the link to a channel title bass singer reacts to two country boys trying to sing opera. He himself is an opera singer. He gives them major props and is very very impressed with what they did. So he looks at it as an opera singer and dissects it using his Opera knowledge. I learned an awful lot from it. Because they were so good that was what he chose to do. All of it is picking as it were but once again he says they didn't awesome job they should be very proud of themselves and he is very proud of them. Amberly is Austins better half and Rob has some oprah training in his college years but it's been 17 years since he has sang opera and it took Austin a bit of convincing to get Rob to do this . But what a great choice to do this. Great reaction.

Both guys are singing below their usual register. You can occasionally catch Rob's full sound eg on the Sea Shanty Medley. Home Free only became a country band by accident, when they said they were to get onto the TV show the Sing Off. The band's bass, Tim Foust, seems determined to drag them further towards country, even though a lot of their most successful tracks are not country at all. I think the title of the video was just in case it wasn't successful or not accepted - they were very nervous about what reception they would get. Sebastian Douyon is an incredibly talented pianist, producer and arranger, who works with Austin on his own projects. Amberly, as you might guess, is Austin's girlfriend, who does a lot of the donkey work on his channel, as well as The Beauty and the Bass (their outdoor blog), and runs his Superfans site
