Had a similar issue. Rack was stuck wide open. Pull the lines and slide the pump cartridge out. Maybe you'll get lucky, pull the plunger element and clean it out. Even the tiniest amount of rust or dirt will lock it up.

Agree completely! I actually ended up getting rid of it before I messed with it further to help fund a Kubota project!

@@Tyler_Robertson next time then. It's a pretty common thing. Moisture gets in there and with tolerances in the .0002 range... Even the slightest corrosion will have it stuck. Wipe it all clean and feel the fit. Now cost it with diesel and feel the drag. The molecules of diesel are causing the seal. It's very impressive.

@@hvguyI just got one of these engines and I got it running but it only wants to rev up to wide open, I’ve taken the pump apart and it’s clean and all moves freely, I can’t figure out what’s going on

I have a 402d-05 I just bought I got it running but completely runs away in the procece now of ripping the pump apart

I would have if it had one. It had a manual pump on side of block after the filter housing... Motor is long gone though.

@@davelowets I'm sure you have. But for the most part no other diesel motor will spin real high rpm and still survive.
