I think it’s gouache, that would explain the streakiness when used as a thin transparent wash and the gummy consistency compared to traditional watercolour. Used thickly enough to be fully opaque (as gouache should be), it looks very interesting because it re-wets so well! I hope someone can try it like that

My first thought is that it’s a gouache but it failed the black paper test.

love the idea of comparing the paints with the same linework, you van really see a difference!

I struggle with some gummy colors. I have tried adding different mediums. Golden airbrush medium has worked the best for me, but any other suggestions you may have would be helpful.

Seems like a lot of work to get the paint down and doesn't look like watercolor.

@@eurekawanders for example, the artist line from Grumbacher, which is supposed to be (and priced as) professional paint

@@vilvile oh dear. i would suggest buying other waterecolors. I havent use Grumbacher before.
