Ah the music of Conrail, used to hear these all the time growing up. I miss the big blues.

The key to a sweet sounding RS3L is to keep blowing after you pass, I love the transition from front to back, that's a leslie, great recording.

That first RS3L has to be one of the best horns Ive heard!! Reminds me of the old EJ&E. Their horns sounded so similar especially from a distance. Sweet job!

Wow, two beautifully eerie RS3L’s. I truly love the roaring sound these wicked horns make! Like at 1:01!

I say this every time I see warbonnet anywhere "There's goes a faded but still beautiful engine" or something similar to that.

My dad heard these all the time when he was a kid in Mexico. This horn was popular on the NdeM.

They are connected to cars. The video shows some pictures of the horns off of the cars

@@atsf4life183 definitely not a GEVO, as they first started production almost 10 years after the BNSF merger... These were almost definitely ATSF horns, based on the sound and the video title... But the specific units is anybody's guess, they could be off an SD40 from the 70s or a Dash-9 from the late 90s, or literally any other ATSF unit from their last 30 years of operation

Based on the quality of the horns, and the fact the description mentions they are GE horns, it's safe to assume they were off a Dash 8 or Dash 9 warbonnet.

The Arctic Gamer you can’t base a horn’s railroad origin from the sound, as all RS-3Ls from this era would sound the same from any railroad. however the 3L chord did change sound as the decades of the 20th century past.

@@rnrailproductions5049 I suggest you re-read my comment, I didn't say the RS-3L changed, I'm saying these particular horns sound brand new, which lends credibility to the description claiming they were off ATSF GE units - dash 8s or 9s probably.
