You don’t know what you are talking about. The mayor and the Board of Supervisors are working overtime on SF’s problems. Whether effectively remains to be seen, but plenty of people DO CARE. No way is SF going to become another Detroit. Very different situation. Tourists are already coming back, offices are starting to be rented again, new businesses are opening. The real problem now is the property crime, and the bums and junkies on the streets, and their damned tents and trash and filth.

Nobody put a gun to the owners head &’forced them to sign the lease. It’s written clearly how much is rent and how much it will increase over time. This place is located in a popular tourist area with heavy foot traffic. You can generate $50K a week. This just either poor management where food and service sucked or nobody wants to go to SF anymore to visit due to crime, drugs, homelessness. SF is a 💩 place now literally.

I was there last weekend. Had zero issues, a nice lunch in fisherman's Warf. Saw two homeless people and one of them wouldn't take any cash. No crime, feces or drug use. Of course you can find those things if you go to the right neighborhood but why would anyone do that? There are plenty of nice places and things to do in SF.

And they still had good food when you worked there. Not so much in the last 10 years and it really went downhill after COVID. Been eating there since the 70's. Took my Senior Prom Date there, my 1st legal drink on my 21st...lots of great memories, very sad to see the state it's in. And the rest of SF as well. There are more Hawaiians that live in San Diego than Kauai. So, help is very limited. So, I will be my vacation spot.

Father worked at the Federal Building on Montgomery St, we would drive the few blocks into The City to pick him up when the rode the MUNI Ocean View Line. I remember green and cream MUNI streetcars and buses, Doggie Diner, Flying A gas stations and Herb Caen and Stanton Delaplane in the Comical. I remember when as kids we DRESSED UP to go to dinner in SF (fave spot as a 6 year old was Chauncy MacDuffs for the huge cheeseburgers). Sure, there were hippies and beatniks and the occasional scraggy types but overall the city was clean and reasonably safe if you stayed clear of places such as the Fillmore or Hunter's Point. I saw it go into decline in the 1990s and was pretty much a dump by 2010. It has only gotten worse, mainly because narcissistic idiot progressives can never bring themselves to admit that their social and economic policies have FAILED miserably.
