This is like my colleague when he is speaking in Indonesian. Honestly, no locals speak like this, this is extremely formal, more like written than spoken. I felt so bad when he genuinely tried his best to blend with locals and spoke like this.. He might have sounded weird but we loved him, he was great!! Bet, I also sound like this when I speak other languages.. 😆

I love how so many Indonesians are watching this video and the comments here are so funny 😂 I'm an American learning Bahasa Indonesia and I love this video. This video helps me so much. I play it in the background and practice. I am still confused words like "lebih" and "banyak" or "supaya" and "untuk" or "kita" and "kami" and also telling time. To say the time makes me like 🙄🙃 LOOOL...But i love Bahasa Indonesia 👍😊

I am learning too! Someone explained kita and kami like this to me: Kita includes the person you are talking to. Kami excludes them. In a sentence like "we would like to order" you would use kami. In a sentence like "we should all go to the movies" you use kita :)

@@helenedorup6545 yeah you right! theoretically is like that. But actually in daily conversation it's just like "kami" is more formal than "kita". So we more often use "kita" instead "kami" for daily life

@@2take. we use VERY formal indonesian in school assignments, government & business stuffs. we use informal indonesian in most of the time (daily conversation even with older people). you'll be fine if you talk to people on the street with informal indonesian, but remember to use "saya" instead of "aku/gue". you can call the person you talk to with honorific address such as "kak" (for teenagers/people around your age but you just want to speak politely), "pak" (for men older than 30+ years old), and "bu" (for women older than 30+ years old)
