You also have to really ask how often doing these frame perfect, position dependent , character specific, setups are going to be relevant in most situations. This will be fun to pull off in ranked sure, but is a pro going to risk a major trying this? Are these niche, hyper specific setups worth passing over Ken’s free side switch combos or Luke’s still powerful crouching MK or basically any top tier’s drive rush conversions? Even casually most average Ed players are gonna lose a ton of rank points going for this in a match.

Nevertheless how bad this character struggles as is. Terrible jab range, stubby range, can't even punish certain sweeps because cr. Mp is too stubby and cr. Hk is too slow, slow reversals, only has 1 plus on block normal that's a high and has no overhead. But their totally gonna remove the incredibly specific, strict timing level 2 juggle

Imagine how much more boring fighting games would be if we never got to see the Sako combo in tournament

I never do any "hitbox only" combos. I can't even think of any that exist in sf6 (there might be some examples with close to impossible charge timings).

Think doing it against big characters doesn't work as well

For larger characters at least, you do need different routes. And some of it does have tight timing. If you're trying to do the conversion with the heavy blitz, try holding down to crouch before doing the heavy blitz and do the blitz right when ed starts to crouch.

Different routes for gief honda and blanka from what ive tested. Idk the routes tho

There's a route for a jab framekill into medium blitz too besides the heavy blitz method.

@@ShineChromatica yeah just in my head the animation difference between all three Blitzes is obvious enough that I find it surprising that was misinterpreted visually. It's not like trying to see the difference between say Ryu M.DP/H.DP which is pretty subtle.

They better not touch this character lol, there's so much he has to do to be optimal and lvl 2 is when he becomes strong

@@Miniko416 I know and he lacks a lot of things on his base gameplan but I doubt that those lv2 tricks were intended by capcom

@@ektrfirefox2571 Ed really is the "honest mids" character until level 2 lol. I do think the lvl 2 shenanigans were intended but I think him being able to still build meter isn't.... that being said they should keep it because Ed needs that super meter BAD

Stuff like this is what makes fighting games cool, emergent gameplay is literally the reason why fighting games exist. Though, Idk if I really trust capcom to recognize that.

It's certainly possible it'll get nerfed, but it's far from guaranteed, especially in the short term. Regardless I think it's incorrect to assume they didn't intend this, you have absolutely no idea what they intend. And even if they had absolutely no idea, that isn't and has never been the basis of nerfing things. Things are nerfed for balance. If it turns out that this somehow pushes Ed to be overturned, then they will address it. It's more likely they they would add scaling to blitz starter over actually busting the combo though.
