These lemon bars are a super easy dessert that is perfect for spring and summer. Just stir ingredients together, bake and enjoy. They are easy to transport to get-to-gathers. They are a tasty light dessert or a special treat and there is no need to feel guilty because they only have 100 calories each (when cut in 24 bars). So enjoy them all summer long at your cookouts, picnics, church dinners, office parties, family dinners...or a snack on the porch.

I added a drizzle frosting made with half a cup of powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, whisked together and drizzled over the top of the cake. It adds a nice touch

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but loads of "weird ingredients" in boxed cake mixes and tinned pie fillings. On the plus side, you could make this yummy cake from scratch, and make your own lemon curd/pie filling which is easy enough, if you can be bothered.

My advice is that if you don't want anything with "weird ingredients", make your own food from scratch, as there are a lot of ingredients in cake mixes and canned stuff like pie filling. There are plenty of recipes for lemon bars online, and a lot are quite easy ones!

I love your channel Becky, but this was an epic fail for me:( I used a mix that was a store brand and the lemon filling you used. Mine never looked like yours in the oven. I’m sure I must have left it in too long. It never cracked on the top, and so I took it out and cooled it. When I cut it, it came out rubbery. I do have an old electric oven that bakes other things ok. I wonder where I went wrong? Thanks for the Word, Becky💜🙏🏻✝️ After reading other comments, I think mine may have failed because I used one of those 2 part cake mixes. Someone else said to only use the one envelope cake🙏🏻💜

Just stumbled on this and can't wait to make it! When I take desserts that are cut into squares to serve, I put them in cupcake liners and then in my container or platter. This way guests can pick up and have a little something to hold it in. Makes a nice presentation too!

It may sound silly, but I love that you make a note about scraping the can with the spatula. So many cooking videos waste a lot of ingredients because they just dump and don’t scrape the container.

Apple pie filling is good with the Angel Food Cake mix as well. Not greasing the pan as for a standard Angel Food cake makes a higher non shrinking result. It can also be baked in an Angel Food pan.

I put crushed pineapples and a half cup brown sugar in my cake then I line my pan with slices of pineapples and cherries and the i pour my cake mix on top of the pineapples and cherries and I bake it. Pineapple upside down cake

I've made these before and they turn out good. Just make sure you read the angel food box and make sure it says to just add water because there are some you have to add other stuff to. And you're right you can use just about any pie filling

Thank you for your thoughts! Also appreciate this recipe and the recent peach cobbler recipe! I suffered a Bad upper body accident a number of years ago (permanently harmed my right hand, arm, and shoulder, and I am right-handed), and your recipes may make it possible for me to make something special for my husband who cares for me at this point in our married life. I used to really enjoy cooking, and I haven't been able to do much in that way for some time. It's nice to think I might be able to make him some peach cobbler (a favorite of his), and me some lemon bars!

A great 3 ingredient cake without egg, milk or oil is 1 dry yellow cake mix, 3 mashed bananas, and 1 can of apple pie filling chopped fine. If you like banana bread, you will love this. I add chopped pecans and a little dash of vanilla. Can also mix some white sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top before baking. Bake in flat cake pan at 350 for 40 minutes. Delicious. Love your videos.
