When i was in a university i saw these man selling mochi filled with peanut jam, it was tasty and filling most of the time i buy his mochi because i dont have time to eat between classes , that man always come at the same time and always offering his mochi in a very polite way, then he stopped coming... poverty and evil thing is normal in my place... I just hope he is doing fine and keep his smile.

In the Philippines we also have that too, a white sticky substance with a peanut butter like filling. Its just mochi and we call it Massi

I love the bean fillings! It’s my fave, my mom’s favourite is the sesame mochi, but ice cream ones are also really nice. Mochi overall is just really delicious

Any flavor of a popsicle, [2 or 3] Then 1 cup of sweet rice flour Then give it a good spin Cover with Saran Wrap Take a fork and make holes Put it in the microwave for 1 minute Give it a good spin and put it back into the microwave for about 1 minute, repeat it 3 times or 4 times until it’s stick and dewy like consistency. Onto a lighty surface use your hands to make it into a better texture,then pinch the top and create mochi balls [any amount] and then dust the top with powder sugar and these mochi balls are fully created.

Reminder: Don't take a huge bite if you're eating mochi. It's sticky enough to get stuck in your throat so be careful. Always take small bites.

Yes, I can confirm that absolutely does work. I just tried it and I use strawberry ice cream and it tasted exactly like strawberries. It was so good I definitely recommend this.

I wouldn’t roll mochi in oil. The oil can get trapped in the mochi and when you bite into it. A whole blob of oil will just spew into your mouth. I would roll the mochi in cooked rice flour or corn starch. And and I have never tried mochi with powdered sugar. It looks really good!

@@Iratecommentsandvideos unfortunately there really isnt one, the main ingredient for mochi is glutinous rice flour, thats what makes the mochi the chewy, squishy texture, so its necessary

To make ice cream ones, do the same steps, except when it comes to forming the balls, form them, and then flatten the balls. Get more of that ice cream you had. And form that into balls but slightly smaller than the balls you made for the mochi. Put the ice cream in the center of the mochi, then wrap the mochi around the ice cream. Pinch it so that it stays closed, and freeze for 1-2 hours.

Lightly oild surfaxe but his hands are like that cuz he covered the black gloves that dont absorb the oil and so it doesnt stick to his hands. It is very hot so if it sticks he might get burned

These look delicious and I wish to try it one day, but be careful, I've read that the outer layer is very thick and can cause choking and death. Best to cut into halves or chew small bites at a time.

Yes thus is very true especially for the elderly. It was a huge thing in Japan where a lot of elderly died from choking on mochi. It was very sad.
