This was maybe the first time I've watched an action movie and thought to myself, "Hmmm...that lead actor looks like he really knows how to kill people," then looked him up and learned "Oh, he was in the French Foreign Legion and fought in Thailand" so, yeah, he can and HAS killed people, lol.

It says to "Turn the other cheek." I interpret that to mean you give the other person a chance to apologize, or make right the wrong, or just walk away. If, on the other hand, he chooses to continue to attack you, then you can defend yourself. The point is, don't retaliate right away. Always give the other person a chance to do the right thing. That's why sinners aren't struck dead on the spot. God gives us all a chance to repent, and thereby avoid the flames of hell.

Mercs and assassins have two different sets of skills. Assassins focus on stealth and surgically taking out one or two assailants at a time silently. Mercs do it more on a wholesale basis. To be sure there is some overlap, but, ultimately they are not the same.

Stealth? Assassin doesn't mean you're a stealthy ninja/sniper on a roof. Assassinations can be as subtle as you want or as messy as you want. All assassin means is essentially, here's your target kill them. I'm pretty sure a Iranian general got hit with an airstrike and that technically counts as an assassination.
