I had to do a quick condolence card for a cousin who had to put her cat to sleep. I am sure it took more than 2 minutes, but it wasn't too much longer than that. I used patterned paper, a simple layout, and stamped some cat images with a stamped sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment. I am thinking it took 10 minutes. For a hand made card I think that is good. And it was cute and clean and simple. Sometimes just coming up with the idea takes much longer than that.
@ardyth

Great ideas as always! Thanks for sharing your talent. Do you remember what the clear bottles? Jars? are in the front row of you Poppin (grey) organizer is? They are the perfect solution for those tools. Also thanks for the heads up about those watercolors. Sparkle flecking off on my hands is a deal breaker for me. I really appreciate you sharing your experience.
@ardyth
@ardyth Жыл бұрын
Ah, Melissa, you have eagle eyes! Those are plastic spice jars, without their caps, of course. I bought them because the are square and I thought they were super cool, thinking I might keep embossing powder in them. Then Marion from WOW! said not to take powder out of the original container (increases static) so they sat around until I put them in the front row, so to speak. I added foam tape to the bottom of the organizer to keep them from sliding and tipping over. Thanks for watching!

My quick cards usually involve panels of patterned paper and a sentiment on a circle. This is easy for me to do as an assembly line. Cut all the panels, stamp all the sentiments, cut the circles, assemble. This way I can do all the stamping on, say Tuesday, and put them aside, do the panels Thursday, etc., and assemble, put in envelopes, and add a postage stamp all in one go. I can address them all while watching TV 😊 This year I'm going to try stencils, though. I'm in love with A Colorful Life Designs!

I love the round Magnets on your Misti. Where could I get some? Love your videos, always so informative. Thx

I love those magnets - they are super thin (1/16") but big (1 1/4") so they are easy to pick up, but hold things securely. I got mine from Amazon here in Canada. Thanks so much for watching!

First time watching your channel and I love your quick and easy techniques, style of cards, instructions and extra tips. Thanks for sharing! 😊 I am currently organising my craft room and love how you give ideas of having equipment, tools, card stock etc. at hand. Do you have any other videos on ideas/suggestions on how to best place equipment & tools in a craft room to be efficient. I am placing all cutting tools together, inks & ink pads, all my Big Shot items together etc. any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you! 😊

We all like to organize differently, but what works for me is to have my most-used tools at hand, in sight. I have a playlist of craftroom organization and hacks, which includes a craftroom tour and updates and lots of organization tips. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

what brand of ink pads? Those are neat for coloring the paper like you did. You're so organized! That's key in being a productive crafter!!! Speaking from experience. ;)

Wow! I never learned so much in one class before and I’m so impressed with your teaching ability and I’m gonna have to go back and watch this all over and take notes where to get everything and it’s pretty overwhelming but I really want to do this kind of card I’ve tried making cars before, but Internet kind of messy I get smudges organized in my parts are all over the place. How did you learn to have such an organized craft room? You can tell I’m ADHD do you think this will never work for me! LOL

Haha! We're all different and if you're ADHD, I'm probably more on the OCD scale - I always liked to keep my things organized. What I do know is that we can all find a way that works for us. If you get smudges, try keeping a baby wipe nearby to help keep your fingers clean, or do like many of us cardmakers, and use the smudges as guidance for where to put sequins or gems! Thanks so much for watching!

Hi Ardyth - can you tell me about your storage solutions? Your embellishment "drawer" blew me away as does the rest of your storage units.
@ardyth
@ardyth Жыл бұрын
That drawer is an acrylic 5-drawer unit that is about 10x7x8 inches in total. Available on Amazon or a similar unit at Muji. I use the containers from a Darice 82-piece bead storage unit - also available on Amazon. For the rest, I have a couple of craft room tour videos that could probably help you, and I'm happy to answer any specific questions you have. Thanks so much for watching!

Great videos, thank you. Could you share where you bought the tower/drawers where you store your stamps?

That tower came from Canadian Tire about 12 years ago. The brand name is Sterlite, and I have been told that JoAnn's carries something similar, but I haven't been able to find a source for this exact one for quite a while. Good luck!
