What a fabulous story! We purchased a yearling filly from a sale and although she was physically in good condition, he mental state was not. She really distrusted people and would bare her teeth and strike out at ever opportunity. It took us a year of working with her (we called her Reece) with natural horsemanship techniques to have her trust us and help her get to where she was able to be confident and easy for us to do anything with her. We learnt so much from her!

Recently I’ve rescued 29 horses I’m happy I did this I always wanted to save as many horses as I could. when i was 8 years old I got a pony of my own thx to my uncle Alex my uncle had cancer and died the next year when I was 9 he lived a good life and I’ll never forget him. My pony penny died the same year different dates, so when I turned 11 I started selling anything I didn’t want of mine and did tuns of chores ( I’m still 11 now btw ) that’s when I started rescuing horses my mom and dad always took me to horse auctions and at first I only took in a few horses around 7-9. We recently bought a huge barn ( I’m not giving the name ) it was the best thing ever , once we made sure it was safe for horses that’s when we rescued those 29 horses I was so happy to do this I will always be a horse lover no mater what. RIP uncle Alex and my beautiful pony penny 😔😔😢🥰🥰🥰 Also I didn’t just get money from selling stuff and chores my sisters and mom and dad gave me money as they new this was my calling😄

I rescued another horse last year that was in a bad situation so now I have 2. My other one I’ve had for many years and she’s also a rescue but we decided to take another one in since one of my horses about 3 years ago passes away from colic. The new one is still a piece of work but so far she’s come a long way but still has a lot more to go. They can tell when you’ve saved them and even though she has her problems you can tell she’s grateful.

Part 2 is up! 😁 Answering some common questions: We don’t know his breed We are keeping him forever We castrated him because he needed to live with our mares, for my safety (he already had so much trauma and could be dangerous at times) , as well as we don’t know his breed/ medical traits. He was incredibly ill and needed to see the vet immediately otherwise i would have let him chill for a bit before halter training. 2 years later: he is confident, lovely, sweet as hell, and everybody’s best friend!

@@mdee860 hey there, I had a rescue for 9 years.then I was injured. I had my Mom video it with my hi8. He was 18 months old when I got him. Ans I wasn't sure he'd make it. I needed him as much as he needed me in the earlier years. So badly abused he was emotionally wounded. I just loved him and very quickly, Sunny Boy knew I loved him and no on was going to put a cigarette out on him again. I crushed a part of who I am when my injury, a fall in Steak and Shake. They said, I'd fallen intentionally. No. I'm not like that. I had been in a wreck delivering mail and was forced to have my lower spine fused. Of course I had to let him go. I put 9 years of love into him and gentled him to ride. I miss him everyday. Yesterday was Sunny's 17th birthday. Last I heard he was with other horses and a great family. They are all amazing and if I could physically do it again? I would do it today. If you can? Just save 1. You won't regret what turning a broken mind into a super horse with a loving heart. Have a great day. Marla
