It was honestly so refreshing to watch this! I'm an alto and will never be able to hit those notes she sang, but I've had to go through so much training to hit the notes I'm able to hit right now... seeing someone openly show how difficult it is to train their voice, but succeeding in the end, is so awesome! Cuz I've been trying to develop my mix but it's the same f*ckin weak as 1 year and a half ago😪 it doesn't even sound natural and no matter if I try to sing loud or not, it's always the same! She already naturally has a wide (soprano) range, she just doesn't have the correct technique (relaxed larynx and diaphragm) to pull it off nicely like Sia and many others do... Great effort tho, I feel sickness in my throat just by watching her struggle and listening to that forced/lifted vocal chords...

I just think it’s pretty cool how if you can do a bit of singing and do lessons you can get so much better. I gave up years ago, but you have inspired me to maybe search for a vocal coach and try again. For me, it will never be a career, I’ll never be famous and I will probably never preform but singing brings me so much joy when I’m not beating myself for being bad at it. I just want to enjoy it and you showed me that there is hope!

@@patriziasforza8484 That's what I thought, too. She wasn't giving her voice any days of rest, even though she was doing something that was straining it and out of her range. It's the same thing as if she'd suddenly taken up a new heavy weightlifting routine and gave herself no rest days - instead of getting stronger, she'd only get weaker and then eventually hurt herself. Going to her boyfriend at least helped her avoid doing permanent injury, though.

As for the latter bit... I think the reason why is that theres a lie and misconception that's common in (mostly Western) media that singing is some sort of deity-granted ability. It's sad, because if people try it and sound bad, they accept they dont have "the gift" and give up. When really, like most things, its just a skill people have to develop. It's pretty frustrating to be complimented on an ability as if it's luck or chance, rather than hard work that got you to that skill level.

And unlike other skills people are born with their voice, some do sound better even if they are at tge same level of utilizing it. And your range. You can extend that but not too far beyond your natural range, what your voice come with. It's gonna be much easier for some and harder for the others. And when it's garder people kinda just... give up

Being a singer myself and struggling at times getting better and, sometimes, having to admit my limitations, I give you so much credit for having the bravery to put this out and show your progress. It was much better in the last one. I know you still can go further but it is great progress and will really help you with songs that are less challenging but will now have more depth and control because of the work you put in. Thanks for sharing and congrats on your progress.

Yeah, Extremely rare voice. A lot of alto's can't sing these kinds of songs even if they train for there whole lives. That must be frustrating. I wouldn't know cause I'm bass.

YOU HAVE TO HAVE SOME POTENTIAL!!!! Sure you can go on vocal training but everyone has to have their own style because when you come out of vocal training you're gonna sound like everyone else there and it isnt going to sound natural.

Absolutely not. This is how VERY unhealthy vocal training looks like. You can see a pain on her face. She could (and probably did) hurt herself during that "training".

OMG...she is so brave to put her before vocals up here and is a good example of how many of us likely sound including myself. I feel so discouraged and want to give up because when I hear my voice on a monitor and play a recording of it---I cringe. She nailed it in the end with perseverance.

One thing to notice is how she throws her head back a bit for the tough notes in the beginning which is an instinct most of us have but it’s not great for our vocal chords. She does it a lot less at the end! Super cool and brave to show and so helpful!
