This is a great video. My corolla 2010 1.8 1ZZ-FE engine had its oil changed 20 days ago. And now it’s under the half mark. What could be the issue. Driven 1050km since oil change.

Check PCV valve, remove the throttle body and check if the intake manifold is covered in a layer of engine oil, if yes, it is PCV valve. Also check the oil seals on your engine and any leakages. If this is normal, do a compression test and see if there is significant deviation from the manufacturer compression readings. The toyota 1.8 is a durable engine and can last easily for half a million kilometers without major engine work.

@@codenametremor I also have 2010 1.8 1zz-fe and no, it doesn't consume oil. Mine is 170,000km driven on 20w 50 oil. I'm thinking to switch a grade lower to 10w 40 but I'm afraid. Should I go for it?

Just do the test on a hot day because when it’s cold you’ll see the condescension from the tail pipe and it’s not the best way to test this.

@@flanker5 I guess so.When i went to the shop to buy engine oil to refill the car,the seller there said me that the mecanic used the wrong oil for my car,so he gave me another type of oil and from than the car is ok

How about the tfsi engine no smoke at tail pipe but it consume oil 1 liter per 300miles? Do you think is turbo leak?

My rings are brand new and so are my valve guide seals, and I am burning oil. It could also be a head gasket

If your rings were changed, your head gasket should have been changed. So it's truly a repair error. Go complain to your mechanic.

They put the rings on the wrong side? Isn't really seated yet?

The rings as pointed above might have been installed incorrectly, proper seating of the rings is crucial. I had a friend who got his engine overhauled and the mechanic installed the piston rings with the cuts aligned vertically, that engine became a drunkard, used to burn 2 Liters of oil every 15-1600 kms (1000 miles)

I have a hyundai santa fe sport 2017 about 129,000 and it's burning about 1.25 quarts oil in under 800 miles. I'm told it needs a conbustion cleaning, is there another way to fix it outside of the shop?

I have a 2017 Santa fe sport at 129,034 miles and my suv has been doing this for about a year. I just add oil all the time. I swear it's worse RIGHT after an oil change though

Hey so I'm nothing the last few months that my oil changes don't seem to last longer than 2 months, I take it to Honda to get it done but then again I drive for work so is that a possible reason?

If you drive it daily and it is consuming oil then yes there is something wrong with the engine

Any one know ..why my motor in a chevrolet 2500 van 2005 ...burns oil ..only when I turn the heater on ...only...it gets empty in a few hours ..but if I don't used the heater I can run it all day nothing happened ?

I think clutch use transmission fluid and it is separated from the oil case of engine oil. I might be wrong.

Try to use Mobil super 3000 5w 40 full synthetic engine oil it will free up your piston rings

That's a very ordinary oil, group III. It doesn't clean too much. Maybe in a still soft deposit that came from using group I mineral oil in a non demanding engine...

Well we got an t5 uses 1 liter oil per 450 km ( diesel ) no smoke rums well mot worthy 500k but yet piston rings worn out so i gonna replace them and also stem sealsvand just ill justvrebuild it 😀😉

@@arunkumar-xc3ms condensation. That's normal. If the white smoke stays even after it has warmed up then it is burning coolant or water.

My car is consuming a lot of oil ile 5 liters per 10000 km, I dont see a smoke and I havent got problems with the oil in liquide, doesnt see any oil leaks.. its 1.4 fiat 95hp 843a1000 engine
