The first step is into the Promenade position. Yes, the second step is into Contra promenade. However, because we do a natural turning figure, man does step forward on his right foot slightly diagonally to the right.

The natural twist turn of the second step for man is along LOD pointing DW not slightly move to Dw. Please read the technique book before you go to teach!

Technique book is important, we agree. Yet, ballroom dance technique is evolving and changing based on better understanding of body mechanics. There are many different interpretations of dance figures and also personal choice.

This is so contrary to Argentine tango. In ballroom move away from each other as if repelled, in real Tango it's all about heart connections, the dancers embrace each other.
