2nd Samuel continues the story of the newfound kingdom of Israel.
Samuel has died peacefully, Saul has fallen in battle, and David has much to do
to establish peace and unity though out the tribes
and to claim the area God promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The Key verse is:
2 Samuel‬ ‭7‬:‭27‬
“For Thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying,
‘I will build thee an house’…”
2 Samuel builds on the promises of 1 Samuel concerning God’s King and Kingdom,
in it we see God is pointing us to the Lord Jesus,
not just as Israel’s king but ultimately the King of All the Ages:
Jesus The Son of Man - Jesus The Lion of The Tribe of Judah.
