I have 2 of the dual 4 ohm EVL'S on a smart 3 wired to 1 ohm and man they bump! I have 2 battery's and a 20 fared super cap but my headlights still dim. It drops down to like 11 volts, but my amp still doesn't turn off, even with the stock alternator I Just have headlight dimming. These subs pound, it makes me want to get a better alternator to give them the full juice, I've never even smelled the voice coils like my old subs. They were super stiff out of the box, but as they broke in they got way louder. Plus the smart 3 is like the best amp money can buy with its clip light and VU meter to show how hard you're pushing the amp. You need to post a vid of your subs flexing maybe put some change in a cup holder and lets see it move!

Sounds like your setup is a beast! Once you step up your voltage it’ll be even more stronger! The video of my setup is coming soon. Got a few changes I have to show!!

Sounds like a decent setup but that 20f "super cap" ain't it cheif. That's just a choke point in your electrical, especially if you have a factory alt still. The only real caps that will make a difference are gonna be in the thousands of farad's range for car audio. And as far as headlight dimming. Get your halogen bulbs out of the car and switch over to led! I gaurente that will solve the dimming issue. But as far as voltage goes... Upgrade your vehicles charging with a high output alternator. Brand x makes some really good ones for a decent price and they're made right here in the states! That will get your voltage up no question!

Have the skars handled that extra power good? Trying to see what amp to run them on.

They handled it fine 3k wasn't enough for them. At clipping they still wanted more power so I upgraded to the taramps smart5k and that worked perfectly. The sad news is pushing those subs so hard for so long really broke in the suspension and they started bottoming out when hard bass punches hit. I still have them and the coils look perfect but I have new subs in the ride now

@@brianmosleyb9104 there's not a off the shelf high output alt for my car, I'll have to get one custom built. The factory alt is 160amps though I have 2 100amp hour agms and a ioxus ultracap 375 fared. The voltage still drops but it's plenty of power for that 5k and 2 twelves
