Long time no video! I'm back and ready for action though, so let's get grilling! In this video I celebrate the new house with SURF AND TURF! Grilled lobster tails are fantastic and I can't believe I hadn't tried them until now.
Slow N Sear is 100 shipped from Amazon: weberkettleclub.com/recommends...

I have 3 charcoal Webers and 1 gas. A modded Smokey Joe, a Jumbo Joe, and the Weber Performer. I have a Weber Q1200 that I only use for when I really need to get going quickly because it's getting late/dark out, otherwise it's charcoal for me.

This is an excellent video! Thank you for sharing this. So many grilling/BBQ vids show just the protein or just the sides. As a relatively new-to-charcoal backyard griller/smoker, I was looking for Slow n Sear videos where the entire dinner was made on the kettle. Kudos to you sir, yours was the only one I could find. On a side note, your backyard looks like So-Cal. I’m in Mission Viejo and I recognize that kind of block wall!

@@Weberkettleclub I did have one for years, but somehow lost it during a move several years ago. I'm rocking a Sam's Club front door display gas grill for now but I find that really miss the ritual and flavor with the Weber. I used to use newspaper to light my chimney btw. Don't judge me.

Looks like a nice meal. Bravo to you for pulling it off mostly one-handed! You may have been better off using a few more briquettes and cooking the food in a couple of shifts, like cooking veg and the lobster while the steaks rested.

First off, good to see you back. I discovered you last year, you had a big party with other kettle fans and wow what a get together with so many kettles. So about this cook, a surf and turf. Im going to have to limit my comments on this vid because there's to much to say. I did like what you did, especially since it's your 1st surf and turf. I live out here in the "Great Pacific Northwest " and consume great amounts of seafood. When your grilling any seafood always go hot and fast. Next time you do asparagus use bamboo skewers and make "rafts" of 4 or 5 spears. Really looks good and easy to deal with on the grill. I have more suggestions but I drive truck and I just got my trailer so I got to go. Start cranking out some vids congratulations on the new place.

Thanks for the tips Victor! I meant to go hot and fast on the lobster, but the butter dilemma and last minute change of plans messed me up :( I used to do the skewered asparagus! It looks awesome and is easy to deal with, but too much work in the setup. Plus small spears don't work well with the raft. I like wrapping in prosciutto and provolone!!

@@Weberkettleclub Just wait until everything else is off, put the asparagus over the coals and roll back and forth to get all sides. Done. Takes about one minute. Pee smell takes about half a day for me.

Instead of attempting a tour de force kettle cookup with some really incompatible items cooking method wise, why not show the power of dragging out one, two, or however many more kettles? I think that you battled through it all and made a good meal, but why sweat it over a few briquettes? I know that feeling of doing something cool when I just use six or eight coals for a CGA cook on a weeknight, but I'm not throwing on lobster, corn, and steak. Damn, I'm glad to see you back, I hope that you make more of these. You are entertaining. (And have a bunch of great kettles)

the point was to do it all on a 22 though, at least for this one. I'll do some multi-kettle cooks in the future - but i gotta get the hang of things again :) Glad to be back!
