No mountaineering guide should be required to accompany a client further, after being advised to stop or turn back. There should be a "hold harmless" clause in the agreement to hire a guide if the client refuses to follow guidelines or orders. Document the dispute and notify appropriate authorities. Quite a number of climbers who perished in youtube videos I've seen were completely irrational, if not outright suicidal and no guide should be required to place their own lives at unnecessary risk.

Well, then i'd quality to a guide. I'll simply make big parties in the base camp and the morning after will strongly recommend the clients to remain there.

1:30 "Aconcagua is known as a non-technical climb. That means you don't need special equipment like ropes or axes to reach the top". Immediately after that statement they show people with ropes, axes, climbing boots and crampons. Moy, Magnus and Simmons undoubtedly were aware of the symptoms of altitude sickness and chose to ignore those symptoms.

Kilimanjaro has a success rate over 80% on routes over 8 days.. the 5-6 day summit success rates are more in the 40-50%

@@maverick3644I did mean 8 or more days, but yes, I did a 9 day climb (8 day lemosho with an extra night top (crater camp) Northern circuit is 9 days standard and can be extended to 10

@@maverick3644yes.. i stayed at crater camp so my climb was 9 days, but norther circuit is 9 days standard… But I did mean that success rate is 80% for routes 8 days or longer :)

Massively inaccurate stats about Kilimanjaro - I believe about 35% fail (Aconcagua about 70% fail)

Kili depends on route.. but no route that I know of has 98% success…80+ is the 8 or more day routes… shorter routes have less success
