Today we'll make a couple of white negronis. The first recipe calls for Suze and Lillet Blanc while the second uses Cocchi Americano and Lillet Blanc. Both use Plymouth Gin as the base spirit. Recipes at bottom of the page.

I'll have to try the Cocchi Americano version. I have a bottle of Suze, and wow, yeah, you're right. I like Negronis, but Suze is bitter in the way that stuff you buy to keep puppies from chewing is bitter-it has staying power. If the sip was bitter, then went away, I'd be more into it, but for me at least the Suze really lingers.

His formula: Base spirit + vermouth + bitter liqueur His Negroni: Base spirit + vermouth + vermouth

Fun fact for you. Neither recipe contains any vermouth! The more you know.

Lillet is not quinine based. You’re confusing Kina Lillet, which hasn’t been made since the 70s or 80s, with Lillet Blanc. Your comments are making you seem like the asshole. You don’t have to like this. No one is making you like this. Simple idea. Take something bitter and replace it with something else bitter that is more approachable. No one is making you drink it. Move along.

I’d love if you you tried this and let me know what you thought: 1 oz Plymouth gin 1 oz Cocchi Americano 1 oz Dolin blanc vermouth To me, that’s the best white Negroni
