2 Year Old Makes Home Made Goldfish Crackers From Scratch: Susies Cooking Show for Kids Ep. 11
Today 2 year old Susie is showing us how to make home made Goldfish style crackers, with five simple ingredients. Cheddar Cheese, Flour, butter, salt, and water.
These home made goldfish crackers taste just like the name brand, but have a little bit more of a savory mouth feel, and a nice crunch to them. This batch made about two cookie sheets worth, and we ate them in one day!
This is especially fun for kids, because the dough is a lot like play dough and is totally edible...and tasty, as you can see from Susie's demonstration. We didn't have any goldfish cookie cutters, but we washed and used some of Susie's small play dough cutters and they worked great!
The recipe:
1 cup flour
1/2 stick butter
8 oz shredded cheese
2 tbs water ( more if needed)
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cook at 350 for 10-20 minutes (depending on how thick and big your crackers are)
Pulse the dry ingredients in the food processor, then add the water and make a ball. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, roll it out, and start making shapes!
If you wanted to make some home-made Cheese Its, you could use a pizza cutter to make squares and add the hole in the middle with a tooth pick.
