We are attempting to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest sonimod chain field to celebrate the launch of @lorealparisuk's new product line, #BrightReveal! Congratulations on the world record guys!! And it was awesome to see lots of different domino builders i had watched for so long in person! 20000 dominoes in a sonimod field is super impressive for just 3 days since you have to individually plan out the field design, rather than just a plain colour! Gotta put those free white and black dominoes to use now lol. They will be useful because I only really have around 300ish per colour so I’ll be more able to do field plans and more interesting designs now.

With the record broken there are many things we can learn from this. First, it is curious to see that the sonimod record has not been broken since the Germans LeDomino16 and Domino Dan did it about four years ago. The curious thing is that when last week we were discussing about safety gaps, I remember that precisely in one video, Domino Dan invented a type of safety gap using a string and I thought it was the safest way than filling the sonimod line because it was very scary, but I saw that it was the less realistic method possible. Second, in the video it is imperceptible but now I understand why you did not reach 20k in the record, apparently when I saw it in your story I realized how two or three lines stopped but already in the final part, I think that making all the dominoes work is proportionally titanic but its ok, maybe in the future the goal for the record will be 20k. And well, in the end what can I say, not only the visual effect that it creates but also the sound is particularly interesting... I am impressed to know that you were able to complete it during those three days because the truth is I don't know how I would build it with a sonimod template constantly, congratulations and I hope that record lasts longer than the record for the largest circle hehe! 😉👍 I think last Saturday was a breakthrough day for the domino community, that day in Michigan at the same time they were breaking the 2D pyramid record at Falldown 2024! What an unforgettable day! 😮

Sorry I was away over the Easter weekend - I would have loved to have been there! A couple of thoughts from me though 1) If you'd had the field starters along a top edge rather than a side, each row of sonimods would have been ahorter, so a failure in a row would have reduced the total by less. 2) It was very hars on the video to see the topple taking place - would colour change dominoes work better?

yes haha she counted the number of dominoes on the X and Y axis and multiplied. luckily everything is on a grid so it’s easier to count!
