Thank you for this. I’ve had such a rough 2022. But, I’ve started praying and reading and studying my Bible more. I want to get started back in church. I have health issues and thats’s something I need to work on. And, I stress over bills so I want to cut more out. My main thing I need to do is give my troubles to God and stop stressing about so much. It’s making my health and anxiety worse.

These things may help. Try some light exercise and sunshine daily and see if that helps. Have a purpose for each day to keep your mind thinking about good stuff. Declutter one thing each day. Good luck.

I’ve started listening to radio programs from the 1950’s on KZfaq. I mainly listen to westerns…They are really fascinating because I like having to use my imagination while listening to these programs, trying to imagine how life must have been back in the 1800’s and how many challenges people had to overcome to survive in that era!

Society has failed to teach life skills, coping with boredom is one of them. It has trained us to believe that we need outside sources to think for us, and to entertain us. We are not smart enough to entertain ourselves. The individual is being suppressed. Responsibility and accountability are too hard. Blame someone else. I believe the lack of teaching life skills to be a contributor to the “mental illness” situation. People are being distracted by technology instead pf learning and applying life skills. Life is work, not constantly being entertained. As an introvert who feels things deeply and consistently overthinks things, I have been an outsider most of my life. I felt “guilty” for not wanting to attend public events, parties, etc. Those situations are “too peopley “ for me. The energy levels where me out. I need solitude. Thus, I run counter to all the commercials and announcements crying out that these will make me happy. Happiness is temporary. Joy is contentment. I’d rather be content than have blips of happiness. I react to news stories that I have no control over. It’s one thing to be compassionate, another for it to upset you. This, my exposure to news is minimal. I was raised where courtesy and manners were taught to be applied everyday. Consider others . Thus,I no longer attend concerts because people cannot leave their phones in their cars. Why spend $70 for a ticket if you are on your phone? Illegally recording perhaps? Do you need that selfie? Others may deal with rudeness better than I. Fine. I will not spend my hard earned money at events where consideration for others is absent. I am learning to focus and be in the moment. I only have the moment that I am in. The future and past are vapor. Multi-tasking is over-rated. I am more relaxed when I focus and complete what I am doing. Sometimes we do need to multi-task, but it does not make me a better person. No matter what society says. Thanks for the time and consideration that you put into your channel. You are helping others learn new skills and that it is “acceptable “ to be different. I think that it’s better! A quote that I recently read: “Repeat after me: I am no longer available for things that make me feel badly.” Best wishes for an adventurous, growing in wisdom, and filled with love and laughter New Year.

Usually boredom is not the issue. It's trying to get all of the things done that are required of our life. And then asking God to give us a few minutes of free time. Yeah obligations are through the roof for most of us

I exercise 30 minutes a day. I have some lotion which I have added essential oils too. I rub some on my neck and shoulders and then I make time to sit and relax and do my tapping for 10 minutes. It really calms me and releases my tension and anxiety. Sometimes if I can’t sleep I get up and do it in the middle,of the night.

As usual, I agree with you. I barely watch any tv now. I have a couple of series that I really follow and watch movies with my husband. But it's only 2-3 nights a week. The reason is that I found something that I am passionate about: painting and drawing. A lot of things shifted from that. It helped me refocus on what matters and how I use my time for things that I have to do and things that I want to do + daydreaming time 🙂 That lead to delegating, sharing, trusting that even if it's not perfect it will be done well enough.

What i plan to do more of is to always pray to God to ask him for his guidance in every desion i make....to ask him as Psalm 62:8 says to puor out my heart to God bc he is my refuge.....and my Rock....it can seem that we all need to unload our day onto someone but who better than to unload our thoughts onto God...he can be our very best friend so to speak...as James 2:23 says that Abraham put faith in God and he was his friend...so we too can put our trust in Gods unmatched and unwavering loyality to us bc he loves us as he has said in Jesus own words found in John 3:16...and not only that but bc we can trust God with our whole heart as Proverbs 3:5 says...and just think God invites us to pour out our heart to him in again Psalm 62:8....so i think i will really do my best to pray to him b4 i make a desision and wait for him to answer the prayer as he has always done.....and im sure that he will hear my prayer as he has always done bc im Jehovahs friend...and so if anyone of you needs some reassurrance from God dont stay away from him, but pour out yr heart to him as Psalm 62:8 says...and the hearer of prayer will hear yr prayer as he says in Psalm 65:2...

Wow, I so wish I had that kind of time that you're talking about to sit down and read. I barely have time for my own Bible. Study when you're a single person and all of the weight is on you. There's no one else to help free time is really non existent

Jennifer, these are so good! My main goal for the year is to pay off my 3 remaining credit cards, so I have been unsubscribing from people who make me want to buy things or to feel discontent. I want to focus on having enough. To that end, I’ve been looking for content highlighting frugality and simplicity, and you are exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

When on utube & watching lifestyle blogs I was increasing getting annoyed but didn’t really know why it would irritate me so much. I was looking for Christmas inspiration & I normally love seeing how others live & decorate their homes. I used to buy lifestyle mags at one time. I was getting irked by them referring to me & everyone else “My Darlings” or “My Angels” & they would talk about their events they were attending, what clothes they would wear, usually expensive & what make up they claimed was the best. It was vacuous & narcissistic & I couldn’t relate to them, in this country or abroad. I read the comments which were extremely flattering & gushing & that disconnect became wider. It wasn’t as though I couldn’t afford what they were selling I was annoyed because it was all so fake. My watching encouraged that & they were being paid to continue. I unsubscribed & no longer watch those type of videos & feel so much better for it. I now look to videos that really will inform me or at least reinforce what I already know.

Hey Jennifer, I hope you and your family had a lovely Christmas - I really enjoyed this video and can relate to so much of what you said. I have minimalised and simplified quite a few things but I'm hoping to declutter some more and remove any meaningless distractions in the coming year so that I can truly concentrate on and appreciate who I'm with, what I own and invest in meaningful experiences and only those people and things that really do matter- I'm wishing you all the best for 2023 in all that 6ou need/choose to do ❤️🤗

Do you have any book suggestions? My goal this year is to go back and forth from fit ion to nonfiction. I started with atomic habits last week. I was always told because I have dyslexia I would never enjoy books. They lie. Sad I had to be so old to listen to myself and not others. The book that didn’t match up with my imagination was where the crawdads live. The movie the young lady had no accent, and she would’ve had such a strong accent. In February I’m going to read the man named Otto
