Welcome to day one of our 12 days of SwitchUp - 12 videos leading up to Christmas Eve and covering a variety of topics relating to all things Switch, done in more of a podcast style so we could just have a chat, basically! Today' we look at 10 different genres of game and pick 2 games that new Switch owners should grab. We pick one 'obvious' one as not having them on the list would be silly but then offer an alternative and, sometimes, lesser known game if you already have the big name games. Hey guys, if I'm being honest this "12 days of switch up" has been the highlight of my day. I'm stuck in a nursing home, so yeah... As you can imagine, being about the same age as you guys, I don't have a lot in common with my fellow "residents". Watching your videos is like hanging out with 2 of my best friends. I enjoy predicting the third party follow ups! I only got 4/10 correct, but it was fun! Looking forward to the rest of this series! Chained Echoes being ranked as your number 1 game last year was the reason I immediately purchased it. That was my favorite gaming experience in 2023!

I got 3 hours in and gave up! Only because it was great and I knew I'd love having it as a cozy Christmas game (gonna be my first solo Christmas as my wife left after 23 years in Aug) but I have my kids full time so Christmas will still be magical and gaming really can add to the fun. Modern version of board games really. As long as it doesn't take over the whole holiday (difficult but needed lol).

This is the first 12 days of Switchup for me and I’m already loving it! It is nice to see you in person and the bloopers were such a nice touch! Loved to see Stardew Valley and Sea of Stars in your reccomendations, some of my big favorites. For the open world games, I just would like to mention Skyrim cause it feels so good to be able to play it on portable! Anyway, amazing content as always 👍🏼❤️

Got a switch this summer. Last console I had was a decade ago. So rediscovering my enjoyment for games. These videos help a lot to show me what genres I enjoy and find games within those. But also to expand my backlog when I’m ready.

This is my second 12 Days of SwitchUp, and I am looking forward to what is to come. Since finding your channel my catalogue of "alternative" games is the biggest thing on my switch. I leave the first party games to be presents for the kids (that way I can still play them later!). Sea of Stars has been on my list for a while since seeing it on here and now hearing you talk about Red Dead I may have to add that! Keep up the good work!

I agree that sometimes a game that doesn't have a massive daunting open world can be better. I've just finished Links Awakening and was so impressed by how much gameplay was packed in to such a small map!
