I am so glad I found your channel. Ive watched various videos about adhd, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, etc. but the way you talk about these tips is so helpful and not condescending. Thank you for sharing your expertise, will definitely keep watching your videos. My questions tend to be around the moment or thought cycle i get into before i tackle a task. I get stuck in a loop where I walk through all the steps and feel a sense of dread, even though I know exactly what I need to do. Its just hard to take that step. Sometimes I have to “parent” myself and tell myself, you need to get going now or else you will lose out on time to read before bed, for example. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. what are your thoughts on this and if you have any videos on it. Thank you!

@@SunburnX There are some general tips I saw (Yeah I watched the video anyways hahaha and I know you didn't ask me, but I do agree with the comment above to a point) I'd say to take these tips with a "grain of salt" because you have to adapt them to what works for you. From what I saw in the vid: 1. Be flexible with your times (most people work during certain hours... just work when you can. It's better than not doing anything because you missed the timming to do it earlier.) 2. Stack habits (If listening to podcasts or music makes you happy and entertained enough to make you be productive, do it. Listen to a podcast while you work. I put anime I love in the background, makes me 10 times more productive. Sometimes I simply loop a song when I'm on a deadline, a hype song, and it makes me work SO MUCH faster.) 3. To-Do list (Always write down or save a voice note for... well, things you remember to do. I write stuf down on a notepad in my phone because I always see my phone for everything, so... make your lists wherever is easier for you to make them. If you're the organized kind, you can even use apps) Personally, I want to recommend an app that is saving my life, that is called Habitica. It has a game like interface, and the more things I complete from my to-do-list, the more items and exp I get to upgrade my character. As a Genshin player who never forgets to do her dailies, this is god sent. The app has daily activities for you to complete and also habit stuff that you can complete whenever you want. Also long term goals that give you toooooons of exp when you complete them, it's so satisfying.

Oh and also. In the video they mention having someone holding you accountable but that just seems so freaking stressful and I just. I can't. I feel even worst when I can't complete my task and dissapoint them. BUT, the "have someone accompany you" when you do tasks is good, I like working when I'm on calls with friends for example. Another thing is, be kind a patient with yourself. Remember that having ADHD is already a challenge in the kind of world we live in, and you're doing your best.

Hey there! I saw many of your videos on intrusive and unwanted thoughts. I have noticed that whenever someone says things like "I failed in a test today", I actually sympathize for them but my mind checks itself by saying "What if you're secretly happy for their failure?" Then i ruminate and keep on doing that. Would you consider this an intrusive thought? Please help

It can certainly be! It sounds like anxiety for sure but if you have access to therapy please check out with a therapist.

Certain things people eat will exacerbate their ADHD or mental nervous disorders. Understanding proper food combining would be something that everyone should learn and start with. Eating a pizza with starch, protein and dairy all at the same time (each of which should be consumed alone along with water rich raw greens or raw vegetables if at all) is ill advised. Eating starch, protein and dairy slows down digestion terribly because our GI tracts are not designed to digest cooked foods let alone processed starch and animal products together. The book THE 80/10/10 Diet by Dr. Douglas Graham describes what our GI tracts do best breaking down and turning into useful energy for the body as well as that which is easiest to eliminate... and when digestion is good and we are clean inside and free of accumulated wastes from years of consuming the wrong things, our overall health is good - no medication needed.

Thank you for the information. I think many people with ADHD forget to eat so I encourage starting to eat first and then figuring out what works best and seeing if any foods make it worse for some. For me, I don’t notice a difference.

Gatekeeping really makes me angry. I have trouble eating. Period. I make it easy on myself like Micheline does by having simple, reliable things in the pantry and fridge that require no thought to prepare and consume. I'm not going to decide to eat this and that because "brain no likey together." I'm not rewarding a whining toddler. The peas touch the potatoes. I'm eating to live. It's Way Better than eating for perfection. Your intentions might be good, but they are foolish for someone like me to implement. I will stand in my kitchen and cry before I eat like you think I should. Don't should on me.
