KZfaq is a fun and glorious place to discover new music! I mean there I was watching a Nerdrotic podcast on Easter day, and at some point in the middle of it all, Gary the host says he wants to play a song... well, it's Dan Vasc singing Amazing Grace (which went pretty viral) then I realized this guy is the same guy that does the opening song for "Friday Night Tights" on the Nerdrotic live channel. Okay, enough of that geekdom, BUT I was like oh wow! He's a real singer! I mean he's really good! So I look him up and he has a zillion cover songs so down the rabbit hole I go. I see he has some "male versions" of some songs of bands that have female lead singers and Nightwish caught my ear. So I look them up since I never heard of them, and find out they're from Finland! Ahhhh... my family's "old country" SISU! Pretty cool, but started listening to them and I got totally hooked! Went down THAT rabbit hole and still digging! So I grew up on the old classic rock, from Zepplin to Cat Stevens to Bowie, then discovered film music from watching Braveheart and that became a whole new obsession for years, and now I'm discovering SYMPHONIC METAL which is phenomenal! ANYWAY... I'm enjoying this compilation so much and low and behold, I get to to Orion's Reign and I'm hearing... is that DAN FRIKKIN' VASC's voice??? Look them up and low and behold it is. Yes it is. Thanks Dan! 😘
