I always learned fade down, I always felt fading out a bald line especially if it was set in by a trimmer took too long. And I felt fading down allowed me to really stretch that fade and move up into the higher gaurd further giving a blurry fade instead of ending up leaving bulk for the crown and the fade disappearing

I completely agree. If I do fades like drop fades or combovers which requires consistent gradual weight I will start with a 1/1/2 detachable blade and create bowl. Then I will blend that out a little with a 1.5 guard and clipper over comb. Afterwards I'll blend down into a zero. I never bald out right away or start guidelines with trimmers.

Lovely haircut for sure👌 this is the beauty of clients wanting guards on the top as a pose to having longer hair. You can smack them out quick. I wish your clients hair was the set trend again 😂

Kid u had yourself set up perfectly 👌 for 30 minute cut ✂️, it's still a neat cut, that' satisfies the client, which is our job, (barbers) a neat clean cut, that's planned before the cut, shows the client perfection bro, well timed cut bro.

I’ve been barbering for like 5 years and working super hard, I have so many damn clippers, but they never cut smooth like everyone on the internets does…is it the set up? Like..some are 0 gapped, some not…but even my cordless seniors or my babyliss pros don’t take the top down that fast…idk why the hell not. It’s so annoying actually bc I gotta go over the top like 20 times and lift the hair with the comb…any thing to help with that?

Autofocus is your worst enemy. Turn it off. Pro tip: Zoom all the way in on the far corner of the shop, focus the camera. Zoom back out. Your cuts will always be clear after that. 😎
