I'm back with a different type of video this time! There are so many errors in the anime, that I could honestly make a video like this for every single season.
Usually I like to say the number, but I think that if I'm doing a video of this format (20+ points) then I'll use the sound effect to save time :)

When I saw the episode where they say that arbok evolves into seviper, i turned on my pokemon emerald and hopelessly tried to hatch an ekans from a seviper. 4kids ill never forgive you for this.

Dude you obviously need to get the Snek Incense. But even then the chance of hatching an ekans is 0.1%. In every other case a poliwrath will hatch.

Believe it or not, the Scyther/Alakazam error was actually INTENTIONAL. Movie commentary reveals that this mistake was left in the movie on purpose as something funny for the kids to notice. That still doesn't make up for the Sandslash/Sandshrew and Pidgeot/Pidgeotto errors, though...

Jesse and James are horrible at naming Pokemon when ash went to the Pokemon league training facility, they had a name that Pokemon test where jesse failed, James barely passed, and ash was only a step up. also translation can account for some of the wrong names, I.e. growlithe in Japanese was less syllables than in English so when the English writers/translator tried to put growlithe in where officer Jenny says it didn't fit so they went with arcanine.

About Number-4: On the film's commentary, the dub's production crew said that they did catch the error but decided to leave it in because they felt that it was perfectly feasable that Jessie & James are not familiar with every single Pokémon. I don't remember how serious they were about that but they also mentioned that they also didn't bother changing the Japanese lettering at the docks at the end of the film because they thought that it would make sense to have non-Latin typefaces at an international harbour.

What about when the Vulpix *hatched* with six orange tails? Let me give you the Pokedex entry: When it is *born*, it has one snow-white tail. The tails split from the tips as it grows older.

Still not as weird as Kangaskhan hatching with a baby form of itself already in its pouch. A baby form that doesn't exist as its own entity because Kangaskhan aren't born as it. I will never understand why they didn't use it as Kangaskhan's baby form when those became a thing, since that's what it is even though it's apparently not. Then what is it?

error 21: Barrier and Reflect work like Protect in the anime

And the moves Counter and Mirror Coat just send the move back even though the Pokémon is supposed to take damage and THEN send the move back with twice as much damage. Safeguard also works like Protect in the anime for some reason

I have one, in season 10 episode 3 right after ash meets dawn. Ash battles a mysterious boy at the end of the episode. The boy clearly states that there are NO substitutions in the battle. After the boy defeats ashes 1st Pokémon. He takes out another Pokémon right a free he said no substitutions. As iris would say it, “WHAT A KID”.

in defense of a FEW things (at least in the gen 1 anime) In cell animation, if you paint something wrong, even if its just a tiny mistake, you kinda have to commit to it. Something like Charizard's yellow wing is WAY less distracting, than if it were blue with a big ol' yellow splotch. And it's not worth the effort of redoing a whole cell from scratch. This happens a lot, even in old disney movies (Now with digital animation, miscolors are pretty unacceptable. It'd take less than a minute to fix that Breloom) As for real animals... Did the games/anime ever establish that Animals and Pokemon DIDN'T coexist, back then? I think the GAMES actually mention real world animals sometimes. hmm... maybe those fish and bugs actually ARE Pokemon, just too small to catch/battle with?

In the movie with Mew and the Tree of Life, Ash is literally eaten and dissolved by Jello. In Arceus and the Jewel of Life, he is almost erased from existence. In the one with Zekrom and Victini he almost dies from asphyxiation from being launched into space, and almost destroys the world in the process. nce. From what I heard in a commentary of the first movie, the "Alakazam" error was intentionally left in by the writers to see if the kids could see it. They also said that they felt it was plausible for Team Rocket to make a mistake. So this was an intentional error as opposed to an accidental one.

For number two, you can't blame the voice actor for getting confused. The trainer who ash is battling in that episode is a fire type trainer, but she sends out an Electabuzz. In confusion, they accedentally had brock say 'fire type' instead of 'electric type'.

well in the first season they almost ate a magikarp i havent seen other seasons recently so idk about anything more recent, tho i do believe normal animals exist because the pokedex will say things like "bird pokemon" or something like that when giving information

The pokedex confirms there are normal animals after all how can you have a fox pokemon or a mouse pokemon and not have mice or foxes so yea those are not mistakes. And people in the pokemon world mostly eat regular animals though in some day dream sequences they are shown dreaming of cooked magicarp and other pokemon also farfetched's pokedex entry states he was used for food and people are poaching slowpoke tails to eat in the games so who knows.

Another error: Pokémon Advanced, episode 32 Abandoned Ship. At the end of the episode they were arriving in Slateport city, Ash said “Slateport city gym here I come” even though there is not a Slateport city gym.
