Thankfully, in today's world of modern forensic technology, it's becoming much less likely than ever that innocent people are convicted for crimes (especially murder) that they did not commit. Here’s a crazy thought if prisoners don’t wanna worry about being on death row than don’t commit horrible acts of violence death row is not meant to be a luxury experience it’s suppose to be a way for criminals to reflect on their actions and understand that there are consequences for their actions

I'm thankful to live in a society that includes the prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment in its brochure. It complicates things, but I'm still glad that law is on the books. It demonstrates, at least an attempt at trying to be better collectively than we are individually.

I understand that people on death row did horrible things and deserve consequences, but shouldn't we as a society aim higher than being "as humane" as murderers. Especially because of people getting exonerated years and decades after their deaths. And people who are able to get released during their lifetimes have already been severely emotionally and physically damaged. Many of them die decades earlier than they would have if not imprisoned.

Problem is, how to tell the guilty from the not guilty ( I can't say innocent, no adult/young adult on this earth is completely innocent.) The U.S has a broken justice system. It's scary to think of being innocent and being put in prison, much less death row..... I know there won't be any improvement, at least not in my lifetime.

People that are on death row, are not there for swiping a mars bar at a tuck shop. 1% may be innocent, if that. The whole idea that someone who has done some absolute absurd crime and has been proven beyond reasonable doubt, ie, multiple witnesses, is somehow innocent is just ridiculous. If you have taken multiple innocent lives, you dont deserve a second chance. I couldnt care less how their family feels knowing their member is on death row, how about the families of the victims? No, i dont feel sorry for them.

People on death row are there for a reason. They are paying for what they did. These guys slaughterd people, and the families are left with PTSD, and knowing they'll never see their loved one again.. But this whole video portrays these monsters as victims because they have such a hard time in prison. Sorry, but I have no sympathy

Here’s something the video doesn’t bring up, although innocent people have been put to death, and overwhelming majority, over 99.9%, I’ve been found guilty and committed horrendous heinous crimes. Some of these people didn’t just kill one person and destroy one family, many of these people killed anywhere between five and 10 people affecting five or 10 different families, do not feel badfor sociopaths

The comments here make me sad. At the end of the day, capital punishment and life on death row is extremely inhumane. It doesn't reduce crime. All it does is fulfill the bloodlust and vengeance that lives in the human heart. Not to mention that the justice system often fails to do due diligence in making sure that they have the right guy, so many innocent people end up in prison including death row. It's not that I don't have compassion for the victims and their families. But know that the human mind is fallible and can be very irrational, especially when bereaved. Many cases are messed up from the start of the investigation, and often you see people jumping on the first suspicious person in their eagerness to find someone to punish. Often, these people won't even change their mind with new evidence. I remember seeing several true crime shows where and innocent person was exonerated with advancements in DNA technology, but the victim's families and the original prosecutors still stubbornly believed that they were guilty. Even if death row wasn't cruel and unusual punishment (it is) and even if it was effective in reducing crime (it's not), I don't trust that our justice system at all. Years in prison ruins lives, but at least people have a chance to rebuild their life after being released. You can't take back death.
