And yes I subscribed. :) I was recently in Madrid and noticed that the waiters provide excellent service in the beginning and then they stop checking on you after your meal is served. We wanted more drinks, several times and of course, the check, but we would have to hunt someone down to get their attention. In the US, I noticed that waiters make eye contact and look for if you need them, many times in Madrid, they don't do this, so it's hard to get their attention. Any thoughts? I would think the purpose is to sell more food and alcohol. It didn't seem like it mattered many times. We understand that people like to linger and enjoy themselves for quite a while. We did this too but sometimes wanted more things. Even so, we had an amazing time and can't wait to visit again!

Sobre la ropa de deporte, creo que depende de lugar, es que he visto las diferencias de Madrid y otros lugares, como Alicante, por ejemplo. Vivia alli desde hace 6 anos y mucha gente llevaba la ropa de deporte para andar por la calle, apsear y tal. Es decir, no solamente haciendo los deportes. Y para mi eso fue lo normal. Quiza, al principio, un poco raro, pero duspes me acostumbre y... la llevaba tambien yo para andar, ir al super, etc.

No es mala idea "espanglear" para contar o explicar cosas es una buena contribución para mejorar el aprendizaje de un idioma tanto anglos como hispanos hablantes 😮

I don't know what cultural shocks I had in Spain, can't think. Early on, I persuaded to somebody to teach me how to order the kind of coffee I wanted and then I was ok. In America, the coffee is EXTREMELY WEAK. That was a shock.

No sabía que en otras partes del mundo no se podían sacar las latas o botellas individualmente, pensaba que era una cosa normal jajaja Por otro lado, qué suerte tienen en otras regiones de España... En Valencia te sacan cacaos, kikos u olivas y tienes suerte si a la segunda ronda te vuelven a sacar, porque en muchos sitios te los sirven solo con la primera ronda, si no vuelves a pedir específicamente otros cacaos ya no te los suelen sacar. De tapas gratis y eso ni hablemos, no existe jaja

hace mucho de este vídeo, pero he de decir q en España claro q se deja propina, para una consumición menor eso ya no, o es menos habitual, pero si te sientas a comer en un restaurante casi todo el mundo deja propina, no hacerlo está mal visto...ah, el café no es "del tiempo" es "café con hielo"...no obstante, este vídeo está dirigido a guiris y todo lo q cuento les da lo mismo, solo quieren aprender español...

I believe married people in europe mostly keep their original surnames and dont adopt their husbands family name. This is true for italy, austria and germany too. I am not sue about france or holland.. Been to spain twice bacelona gerona industrial centre, loret de mar family holiday, and gibraltar with the navy border aas not open then.
