1. Scuff marks on walls. Be careful if there is paint on the wall, if you scrub too hard, it can start to take the paint off
2. Scuff marks on tennis shoes. You can’t have tennis shoes without scuff marks, but you can clean them right up with a magic eraser.
3. Magic Eraser can remove tarnish on silverware. Just be sure to use a light hand when using it.
4. Caked on pans. We cooked bacon on a frier, and with a bit of scrubbing, this pan became almost as clean as the day we bought it.
5. Clean grimy light switch covers.
6. Stainless steel appliances. Just be sure to wipe in the same direction as the grain.
7. Metal. Regular appliances slowly get dirty over time. This George Foreman grill has been around for 15 years, and by the looks of it, the outside hasn’t been cleaned in as many years. But with the magic eraser, suck on gunk comes right off.
8. Caked on food on Tupperware. I had always thought these kinds of white marks were permanent. I’m so glad I discovered that they can come off
9. Sticky sticker remnant. My kids love stickers. And despite constantly running around removing stickers stuck to the wrong places I still buy them for them. When the sticky part of a sticker doesn’t come off, magic eraser takes that sticky stuff right off.
10. Crayon marks. Crayons on the wall or tables can be tough to clean. But with a bit of Mr. Clean magic, it will come off in no time.
11. White Off. My two-year-old strikes again, this time with white off. How does he find these things? Fortunately, it comes right off with little scrubbing.
12. Deodorant stains from shirts. Putting a dark shirt on with fresh deodorant can sometimes leave visible deodorant marks on your shirt. Lightly rub a magic eraser over it to take it right off.
13. Loose make-up powder stains.
14. Hard water stains on the shower door. Use a dry magic eraser to take them off, and while you’re at it, move on to faucets, bathtubs, and sinks.
15. Car marks on interior surfaces. Be careful on leather surfaces though. If you scrub too hard, you can actually start to remove the leather itself. It’s especially good for shoe marks on the bottom of the door.
16. Car rims.
17. Windshields. I hate cleaning the windshield, but I love having a clean windshield and windows too. With a little water, Magic Eraser and something to dry it with makes it look like you are driving with the windows down.
18. Baseboards always get scuff marks on them. They are so obvious when you have white baseboards and black marks. Thank goodness they come right off.
19. While we try to keep these out of reach, Sharpie markers still manage to make it into my kid’s hands from time to time. A magic eraser can take it off.
20. Handrails on staircase. Handrails get touched a lot, but a magic eraser easily removed that gross light brown discoloration.

two things: 1) I was an engineer at a world leading optics and then auto windshield company - do not use these on glass - even though it works briefly, they are too abrasive for glass and ultra high gloss surfaces 2) I worked with the inventor of Magic Erasers at the university where he is an adjunct professor. He is the coolest and nicest guy you could ever imagine - super great guy

I am a janitor and I think Magic eraser is a great invention. I scrubbed a really gross white plastic outdoor bench with one and it turned out great. They do have limitations though, They will scratch up the finish on some items. I have a white porcelain kitchen sink that gets so stained and scuffed. I used to use a green scrubber pad and comet to make it look like new. Then I used the magic eraser with comet for several years but found the green scrubber does a better job.

@@CleanFreakGermaphobe I also use those green scrubber scouring pads (from the 99 cent store) to clean sinks, counters, bathtubs. One time, I used the Magic Eraser to clean a very grimy bathtub - and it disintegrated.
@susansmith493
@susansmith493 3 жыл бұрын
If your porcelain sink is getting stained it's because someone used products that removed the surface finish. It may be old. A quarter cup of bleach in a sink full of water will do the trick for these older, already porous sinks. These sinks can be professionally reglazed with porcelain. Expensive but worth it! . (Do not use bleach on newer sinks, or reglazed sinks.. it removes the finish.). Magic erasers are sandpaper. Super fine sandpaper. That's why they work. However, they should be used very sparingly, NOT as your "go to" sponge. Definitely do not use magic erasers on acrylic shower surrounds, etc. They'll work, for sure, but you're just removing the finish making it an even more complex problem.

These are melamine sponges, as someone else pointed out. They're basically 3000 grit sandpaper, that's why they take off everything. Best to use a light touch with anything car related, at least, cuz yes, it will scratch. Leather is typically sealed with plastic though, so you can still use it, but be careful

I had 2 clients who were scientists and they would not allow those in their house. I assumed harsh/hazordous chemicals in them.

During the process of turning melamine into foam, it becomes tiny glass particles. It's basically super fine glass sandpaper. It removes dirt but also removes finishes. Use them sparingly and def not on acrylic shower, etc ... they'll get the dirt off but remove the finish also thus compounding the problem.

I've always used the Magic Erasers with water. In some of your demos, you used water. Like dirt marks on the walls and baseboards from dogs, would you use a dry eraser due to the paint issue?

They are great at getting out carpet stains, they can shred apart quickly, so be gentle, do a circular motion in opposite directions...only drawback, a clean spot!

It’s great for glass shower doors and heater vents colored white but they do fall apart so each time I;buy a new sponge but it is a lot quicker to clean and less time breaking nails. Depends on time and budget. I opt to save time

As you use them, they do fray off. The more abrasive the surface, the quicker the break apart

I was using these and loving them (I don’t buy the brand name ones, but get cheaper, non-branded ones from Amazon). But then I read they damaged certain surfaces, so since then I have been wary about using them, especially on my stainless steel sink.

I hate it when I discover something didn't work by ruining something. I could make a video! Lots of expensive lessons learned, like don't leave your glass shower door open to air it out. Over time the glass can fall down until it won't shut anymore and you have to buy a new one. Thanks for the tip!
