1:28 quick note on the "combine Acetaminophen and ibuprofen" thing. It's promising research! But a few caveats: 1. it can be a very effective pain reliever as shown in studies for dental pain, but this may not translate to other pains 2. There is a safe dosage LIMIT for Acetaminophen and ibuprofen as well, and the safe amount may not provide relief in a suitable amount for extreme pain (such as surgery or broken bones) 3. They stress different organs (Acetaminophen stresses your liver, Ibuprofen stresses your stomach and kidneys). If you have a problem with any of those organs already or are taking medications that are already stressing those organs, using this combo for pain might end up causing damage. Opioid addiction is a serious problem and patients need to be cautious with their use, but doctors have definitely swung way too far the other way in limiting Rx where it is really needed to reduce temporary suffering. I’m so glad they are doin a podcast now! Glenn talking about getting painkillers reminds Me when my friend Hunter and I used to watch every episode over and over again. He passed away last year due to an overdose an it makes me feel a certain kinda way when I watch the gang. It’s not a bad feeling really, hard to put my finger on, a little nostalgic, but mainly I think I just miss my friend.

It’s actually insanely infuriating that Glenn, with a fucking broken clavicle had to fight for pain medication... from a surgeon. Specialists (including surgeons) have the ability to prescribe over the CDC’s 90-120mg script cap with no issue. Sounds like the DEA is doin’ their thing, breathing down doctors’ necks. People who need these meds are of course the ones that suffer with blanket policies like this. It’s not even as effective in eliminating prescription opiate abuse as they make it out to be. Disabled folks/chronic pain/pallative care patients rights groups had to fight by lobbying for more wiggle room for specialists to get the CDC to revise their 2015 “suggested” prescribing mandate. There needs to be BALANCE with policies like this.

This is the best thing I’ve ever seen done with a podcast 🤣🤣. I met these guys once at Charlie’s pacific rim movie premier, I came right out with the cultivating mass Mac jokes and Mcelhenney went right into character for me it was pretty god damn amazing. Funniest and most genuine people ever, that aren’t too big to crack jokes with a random fan, gotta love and appreciate that.
