For cerulean cave. On particular glowing spots, it will spawn the same type of item. For example, the spots that you get balls, when you restart you or when it respawns, it will always be a ball. Just take note of the spots and do masterball hunting. I did that and get 1 extra masterball by resetting and pick up the ball on the same spots. And heartscale at seafoam islands

Just want to note that ALWAYS have a Pokemon follow you around in caves and tunnels. They dig up all sorts of stuff. Machoke/Machamp will also hit the walls of caves to get stuff out. In Vermillion City, once you sky dash there, immediately sea skim behind the man (LGP) or lady (LGE) sitting on the bench. There’s a big pearl on the ground. It respawns almost every day. Also, in the area where a Machop is stomping the ground flat, there are a couple of boxes off to the right. There’s a full heal by the boxes. It also respawns almost every day. Lastly, north of Vermilion City, along route 6, you’ll get to the underground path heading toward Cerulean City (it pops you out onto route 5, where the guy who does the pokemon training for bottle caps is) and it yields 4 hidden items including pearls and nuggets which respawn every day. But if you bypass that and go toward Saffron City, to the right of that tunnel entrance is a rare candy. It also respawns almost every day.

21)Actually, you can bring a Fight pokémon inside the caves with you, and they can "search" certain spots in the walls, and find you nuggets and other expensive stuff to resell in markets. 22)In the second cave if you make a second tour of the cave with a rock/ground type pokemon, bring them around rock spires and sand spots, they will find more expensive items, they can even find evolution rocks in the spires. 23)If you bring a rock/ground pokémon on the beach south Fuchsia City, they will find a nugget in the sand. 24)If you're not already bored, you can pick free water bottles in Celadon City's condo and at the Silph Spa, from the water machines. They respawn every day. 25)Still not bored? Go to Cycling Road (whatever is called) and farm berries. They respawn crazy there. Between Celadon and Cycling Road, beyond the cuttable bush, bring with you a Jynx and she will find an item over the fence every day. 26)Every day items respawn inside the two underground passages; 27)In general: every day items respawn in this game, for example go to Vermilion City, and you'll find a free Full Heal in front of the second crate next to the old man. There's even a spot where rare candies respawn, way before the end game.

When you are in cerulean Always have a following Pokemon behind you. They dig stuff up for you. Like my mew just dug up a star piece

My favourite thing to do everyday is shiny hunting. I first fight the elite 4 three times using 2 pokemon with payday and then go buy masses of Ultra balls and super lures and then hunt for around 3 hours a day :) I keep chaining even after 31 for the candies and it paid off yesterday as at 38 I got a shiny Eevee and in the same combo at 98 I got another shiny Eevee. It was a good day for shiny hunting and I dont have the shiny charm yet :)

*Keep in mind you need to beat the elite 4 to unlock the flight with Charizard/Any flying pokemon*

In the caves, you don’t have to constantly press “A”, you can just press “A” on the highlights or craters. Just to let you know.

I’m shiny hunting and leveling them up and only fighting the master trainers with solely shinies... it’s making the game that much more interesting... having to work towards a shiny and level it just to fight the master trainers is fun and feels awesome once they are done 😊

I'm surprised every guide I've looked at doesn't mention the underground tunnels. You can get 4 or 5 items in each tunnel and they are usually nuggets or pearls or other items that sell for a lot.

I didn't even bother rematching Sabrina after like the third time because it was too much of a pain to go through those teleporters. The experience isn't worth it (you can just Chansey chain) and after buying the crown, the money isn't worth it either (you can get 13k pretty easily in Cerulean cave)

Community QOTD: Shiny hunting, because I never even caught a shiny pokémon before, I try though.

I must have had a ton of luck, i found a bunch of shinys just running around in the caves, no shiny-charm and no combo, just a max lure. Although it was "just" geodude, graveler and zubat :P i was looking for charmander damnit

i disagree with this "tour" guide. There are spots like a certain location in Cerulean Cave where you are guaranteed a Helix Fossil, or a Dome Fossil completely separate from the "glowing spots" on the second floor. While it may be "out of the way" some players are trying to stock up on those to aim for a shiny Kobuto or Omynyte.
