Since its meant to be avoided, not killed. Would love to see some methods on how to effectively avoid the Warden and raid the cities safely. Especially now it has that ranged attack you can't just tunnel through walls to avoid it.

FYI, wardens don’t spawn in ancient cities specifically. They spawn from shriekers being activated, which can be anywhere in the deep dark biome. Also, they have a ranged attack. Also, there isn’t “a” warden. It’s a type of mob. Meaning if you just sprint around the ancient city after killing one, you’ll end up spawning like 20 more. Shriekers are the real enemy. Get rid of all those and wardens can’t spawn.

It's tragic to see how more than half of those tactics don't work anymore simply because Mojang added a ranged attack and lava/drowning immunity to the warden

I love how he says "these will be some of the most practical ways to kill the warden" and proceeds to tell you to fill the entire deep dark with magma blocks, and also flood it, just in case.

So many of these methods are now just gone with the buffs Mojang have given to the warden like his resistance of lava, fire, water, and his new sonic boom attack especially the sonic boom attack that attack has so much distance and does so much damage

I discovered the other day that the warden can actually kill the wither about 70% of the time, and it will have a about 30-50 health left after its done, if you're struggling to kill either of them I would recommend having them fight each other

A tip for everyone in order to raid the deep dark: Bring Lots of Wool blocks The plan is to cover the shriekers with wool on all sides (placing wool blocks don't make noise, so you won't activate sensors) and then when your in the clear break them with an efficiency hoe (you can find those in the loot places scattered around the map). For multiple shriekers, cover the top of all the other shriekers while you deal with the first (breaking a shrieker activates a sensor) and continue breaking them until there are none left. Then your free to loot the deep dark!

1 way to ACTUALLY defeat the warden FOR GOOD: Destroy every single sculk shrieker, and sprint jump sneak away any time doing so summons a warden. This causes the warden to essentially _go extinct._

For the iron golems, they can be repaired with iron. So you could use one golem to kill the warden if you have at least a stack of iron ingots.

Updated best method for dealing with the warden: make a two block high tunnel so he can't reach you. Then, when he uses the sonic boom attack, block with your shield to entirely negate the damage

I would like to introduce to you a method I call the SUPER FISHER, that was only first figured out in the latest episode of Double Life. I dunno exactly how it worked, but someone got a Warden outside, and had it in a lake for over a week. Four people hooked it with fishing rods and all pulled at the same time. The Warden ROCKETED into the air, and instantly died upon impact.

I actually defeated the warden easily, here's a strategy: Go to the deep dark/ ancient city find an area without a sculk shrieker build an iron golem and put a lead on it. do this until you have 10 iron golems. Summon the warden with the closest shrieker and detach the leads.

The frost walker magma thing makes extreme sense. Since it’s literally frost, it will make you colder and be able to resist hotter temperatures like magma.

another way of killing the warden but much more slower, you will need: netherite axe with smite V, strength 2 potions, a lot of totems, fully enchanted netherite armour

In BE you can just use the 30 seconds of regen 5 a notch apple gives you to basically be immune, cobweb it and do whatever you want (harming arrow spam, crystals (my favorite), letting it hit you so you can P-crit it, etc.

Best way I found is friends with Gapples and taking the fight to him. Also doing a circuit course running

spruce method should be placed higher, it has high panic potential, easy to set up and takes a shot amount of time. Also it does not consist of tons of unstackable items eating up inventory space

How about digging a hole, magma at the bottom, and shoot arrows on all four directions. Very efficient, but could be annoying to set the arrow dispensers in the hole.

Frost walker enchant on magma makes sense, because the boots can cool the player's feet down thus the block won't take any burning damage on them.

OP mob, also yes i know its primarily to be as Obstacle rather than enemy, its still weird it doesnt drop anything for your struggle if you manage to slay him.

fun fact: the warden has an ability called the sonic boom, its basically him shooting things. it is super op and will instantly kill anything it hits. it does this if the player is far away from the warden. for example, being 7 blocks away can cause the warden to do that ability

For a bit in the dark when you went to the end, i saw the lightning glitch thing where darkness turns Red yellow (AND PURPLE SOMETIMES).

The pufferfish 1 is the best I haven't tried it out yet but I'm already in the deep dark in Minecraft so I'm gonna try this out IN Survival mode After I build this thing

I'm pretty sure most of this is getting patched. The warden's probably not going to take lava damage, fall damage, and probably is going to be buffed immensely. And he can hit off people from 3 blocks and hit people from under some blocks.

I have some problems with some of these… the warden have a ranged attack that can kill many mobs at once, so the multiple mob tactic is a no go… and you want to do drip stone or something else, the warden is lava resistant.

The flooding/magmablock underwater sounds great for the merling origin

You could use 5 golems and have a lot of iron ingots on your hotbar, so you can team-fight and heal them as well

For the golems why not bring a stack of iron and keep healing the golem until the warden is defeated Maybe you only need 1 golem and keep healing it

Given how the warden works currently the best way to beat him is just to mine up all of the shreakers you won't be able to spawn if they're not there and if he does you can just leave for a minute and let him do you spawn destroying all of the shreakers then there will be no one to stop you on your way to explore this city so long as you don't accidentally help generate more

A very simple method that I'm sure mojang may never remove from the game that was probably on the 10 out of 10 list was "hit and run." Essentially, it's the most basic attack strategy that players use to get a hostile mob attention. Simply run towards the warden and attack him before running away. Everytime the Warden attacks, he announces his attack to the player for a few moments before attacking them which ultimately allows you to buy yourself some time to escape by getting a high ground. It's recommended to face him while he has the home territory mainly because the high structures offer many turns that will help with dodging the projectiles. This also gives you many chances to crit him out since you aren't too far from the Warden and it's not too hard to perform a crit while running.(This method is best performed with potions of swiftness and strength for a faster kill.) Also, another method is to use the environment against it by luring to an area where you'll have the advantage like the overworld where it's much easier to dodge his attacks and attack him in areas that allow you to gain higher ground. There are many things such as trees and villages that you can use to gain higher ground and allow for easy maneuvering and since the Warden can't climb up a village house or tree, it's very easy to evade him while attacking. In the end, as long as proper distance and maneuvering space can be maintained, taking down the Warden will not be a problem. The fight pretty much ends once you have the high ground that's not a one block space.

You can actually use the wither. Surprisingly, they will usually win even now because the warden's ranged attack simply does not do enough damage to the wither, and the wither can regenerate health.

With the wardens new sonic boom some of these traps wont work as the warden can use the sonic boom to hit you from 20 blocks up andhit you through walls using the sonic boom.

When i first played minecraft after a long time, i didn't yet know that there is the Warden and so i found the ancient city trying to loot it, but then the darkness effect got me and i saw the Warden... i almost pooped my pants when i tried to build cobblestone around myself. But the Warden had the range attack that passes walls and i died.

as this was posted one year ago, the warden is no longer affected by fire so dropping it into lava will not work, suffocation will not work either the warden will js crawl back underground. the warden can also produce sonic shrieks now which is a ranged attack that travels i think 19 blocks? u can stand behind and shoot with a power II bow as well it will take about a little over half a stack of arrows if u dont have infinity on ur bow.

Ive gotten pretty good at avoiding the warden and hiding from him, so I usually go for that. Although one time the warden followed me into the nether and I got the chance to kill him

dadusak, you got something wrong (probably) in rekrap2's video where he survived 24hrs in an ancient city, he showed that it only takes diamond (full) prot 2 (on all) to survive ONE HIT. and still have half a heart

Hey you know that glitch where if you heal any mob at the last second it goes into a glitched immortal state well somehow I accidentally did that for an iron golem and now it's in my mob farm

I recommend bring lots of wool and snowballs and a diamond hoe for the Skulk and a pickaxe also destroy build around Shriekers and Sensors so they don’t activate and use Third person it helps also don’t loot any chests only when you know you’ve cleared the area and if the Warden spawns build up and go far into the ceiling then when his heartbeat slows down and you hear him despawning wait 5 seconds and then go and LOOT THE CHESTS FOR SWIFT SNEAK 3 AND ALWAYS STAY CROUCHED😁 Hope this helps
