I think getting mad at your customers for winning a lot of your machine prizes is bad for business. If your games aren't too frustrating, your customers will want to come back, and you get more profit in the long run.

In Japan, prize figures on average cost 2200 yen new while second hand but still new are around 1500 yen average.

They get higher short term profits from players losing the games. However, the frustration customers will feel when their efforts yield nothing will win out.

iirc there are some claw machines with adult toys inside but i dont remember which country it was in or if those types of claw machines exist in japan specifically
